Explanation required on the urgency to nerf certain classes but not others

Why were hunters routinely nerfed within 1 week every time they were deemed too strong? Shamans and spriest all of P2 untouched, now boomkins all of this phase. Truly some disturbing stuff.

Furthermore, Ashjre’thul, Crossbow of Smiting was neglected of any upgrades and was statted the exact same as classic era. Too much time spent on melee hunter being curated to be the supreme hunter spec once again for some obscure reason.

It gets worse. These unjust devs added trueshot aura melee ap to raid-wide but not the ranged ap? Some frightening stuff folks, thank you for your time.

because hunters weren’t just too strong, they were absolutely busted.

with crossbow theirs a couple items like that. shadowflame staff is like +2 sp +4 stam. also range hunters have really easy gearing and maintain competitive dps. i wouldnt look a gift horse in the mouth there. and remember balance isnt around the speed runners but instead the 50 percentile.

P2 enhance shamans casually and consistently winning 1v3s required IMMEDIATE action and were left untouched. Boomkins P1 starsurge also lasting the entirety of the phase after the early buff was OBSCENE. PvP balance would be in a much better place if the devs kept the same energy they’ve had for hunters and applied that to other classes.

They always wait way too long to fix issues with classes in pvp and half the time when they do they go about in some weird or random way as if almost just to be spiteful or something lol

Because none of this matters in pve so it doesn’t need to be changed ? You are forgetting that “pvp” is just a side quest to the main game. Classic is about end game raiding not griefing in bgs or open world lol. Hope you have a great day Klauschwab :people_hugging:

Frightening, lol, talk about drama…

What gave you that idea? Zirene has been in every class discord working on balance and it was largely based around sims, thats why balance is a lot better this phase.

Ummm….what?

Crazy take.

Spriests got gutted two weeks into P2.

Nah end game raiding is the side quest, that’s why it has a term ‘raid logging’. Finish that in a hour and you either log off for the week or go play the actual game and PvP, duh!

because they’ve mentioned in interviews that they want raids to be completable by the average player…average players being 50 percentiles. which makes sense simply because balancing around absolute setups would be exclusionary to most of the SOD playerbase and thus against the philosophy they are operating under.

Also, if you look at the actual in game logs the least amount of variance between classes (i did exclude arms warrior) and specs is occurring at ~50 percentile where it’s about a 20% difference whereas top 100% parses are around 44%. i excluded arms warrior because its getting out competed by tanks and healing mages across the board so seems like an outlier that needs buffing…granted that is my opininon.

class balance is better this phase because item balance is better this phase. going back to the OP the BiS range weapon didnt get changed because melee and range hunters are within 1% of each other at the 50 percentile (which also supports my other claim i guess) and 9% at max.

The bigg problem here is that the devs dont play the game. So they really dont care. Not like back in the day when the Devs played the GM’s played and things where fixed.

just gotta ignore the kid Baseg. he is all over the forums with his hate for pvp :stuck_out_tongue:

Ohh no, not phase 2. Let’s gimp specs for the entirety of the game because of an imbalance at 40.
