How does one go about creating a new account under the umbrella of an existing account such that I can have 2 instances of wow running simultaneously?
Is that even possible? One would think most people doing that are actually multi-boxing, paying for multiple accounts.

I have 5 currently running at once, 3 are just trials for whatever reason I can no longer remember and 1 is a second account I use to multibox, use chromie time and do dodgy things like take my level 45 alt into dungeons and get higher iLVL gear than I should with better stats.

As far as I know you need separate accounts. Provided you have a separate account, log in on one account, window out, open the launcher and sign in on second account.
I haven’t done it in WoW but used to do it in SWG. I know a guy who does this for farming with 5 separate accounts in WoW tho.
You can make multiple WoW accounts under a single Battle.net account.
It even gives you a dropdown menu on the launcher to select which one you want to use.

Now that you mention it your right. Said player I referred to had his playtime expire on his main a while back.He buys tokens for playtime.
He logged on asking if one of us could lend him the gold for a token because all his cash was on main. We asked how a token on another character would help. And he said that since all his accounts were under the same battle tag he can assign which account to apply the token to.
We lent him the gold and he was on his main within a couple of minutes.
