As the great Michael Scott said, but in this case I want to understand why people say it’s the ABSOLUTE EASIEST melee class. Also, how are they for casual mythics (15s) and raids?
It’s a meme. Havoc isnt any more “easy” or simple than most other melee dps. For example, it’s about the same as Fury Warrior in complexity. More complicated than something like Frost DK, less complicated than something like Feral Druid.
You need to use simpler words, he’s five not 16.
You has five spells and a easy rotation you drool on your keyboard(clicking on any spell) and then you’re top dps.
Frost DK is less complicated?
Yeah I was confused by that statement too
you want us to explain why something is simple as simply as possible?
Ok I’ll give it a go:
- not a lot of buttons to push.
- every ability is for its own sake. you hit blade dance to do blade dance damage, you hit eye beam to do eye beam damage
- your utility is an interrupt, a dispell, a sap and an AoE stun, all instant casts with no setting up
- a lot of movement utility. Fel rush is like monk roll, Vengeful retreat is like hunter disengage and you can use the double jump + glide to ignore a LOT of mechanics. For example, this week’s M+ affix is storming. Enormously trivial if you’re in the habit of gliding out of a knock-up.
- most of your damage comes from basic abilities rather than big cooldowns, so you have access to more of your damage profile at any given time
Obviously there’s a lot of debate to be had about whether we’re actually viable right now and what sort of builds can be said to match the description above. Everyone’s upset about agony gaze, but there’s builds you can play that aren’t so heavily dependent on sinful brand. We’re one patch away from having a completely different setup and unless the devs rework us like crazy those are probably the fundamentals that make DH appealing.
Because DH rotation (back in season 1 when i played it, haven’t played it since then and haven’t seen anyone who actually plays havoc) was pressing Demon Bite, Chaos Strike, Eye Beam, and Immolation Aura
It’s not. It’s just a meme perpetuated by idiots like this who have no idea how the class plays compared to others.
We actually have the most complicated/riskiest melee rotation available to melee when we play momentum. I was playing it for the entirety of sanctum, and the memelords still spouted the “DH ez” meme.
Ignore the memes.
People say that because they look at their two/three spec DPS class and see all the abilities they never use and still somehow count those as being part of the complexity of the class.
None of them take into account that our top DPS choice includes Unbound Chaos which means that as a Havoc Demon Hunter you will need to as I put it, “Calculate a jump to Hyper-space while in an Asteroid field.”
No Rogue has ever said, “I was doing my normal rotation and hit Eviscerate and then died because it sucked me into a hole/trap/front of boss.”
Very simple, low amount of buttons, very direct damage. Don’t really have to think how long the target will live unless you take the one dot they have.
Compare demonhunter to stuff like feral druid, or sub rogue. It’s way less stuff to keep track of.
Currently it is a degenerative design which removed a core ability (blade dance) which revolves around smashing Chaos Strike to get more eye beams to keep brand up. Sprinkle in Unbound Chaos/Glaive Tempest and immolation aura and you have your rotation.
The “Big” DH cool down, metamorphosis, is super braindead and underwhelming.
By far the easiest and dumbest rotation/build ever.
Historically DH has done amazing at single target (Raid) and AoE (M+) without having to really change its rotation. Why people meme it.
Comparing DH to FDK is laughable.
Not slamming people who play DH. Slamming the Devs for making a broken class even dumber.
To be fair breath build is far more complicated than DH, however base frost is a joke
Havoc’s ST rotation is 1234 repeat, and it’s AE rotation is 1234 repeat.
We don’t have situational buttons, we have buttons we hope fit the situation.
Not even a little bit.
And, as someone who has had two strokes and has arthritis, this is why I LOVE my class.
In all fairness, when I mained combat, Killing Spree had gotten me killed more than once lol
