Explain Haste Stacking PLz

Hello fellow Destruction Warlocks! I parked my Lock in 8.1 and now I’m struggling to understand the “why” of stacking haste. It feels weird to stack haste in a world with backdraft.

The beginning of the expansion was about getting off big bolts and now we’re going for fast bolts. Can someone plz explain to me what changed? I’m not the brightest bulb in the box.

PvE and PvP answers/links appreciated.

PvE

Stacking haste amps + flash point traits gives you insanely fast bolts during your infernal + Gosup window making for quick stacks to 20 and more bolts during infernal. Plus it allows you to forgo backdraft in raid and take Eradication and Internal combustion talents. With so much haste we no l9nger need a random 15% haste proc and a 30% bonus speed on bolt. The 10% dmg and huge dmg combustion provides is muuuch better.

PvP you only use this haste build vs casters. Otherwise its a combo of haste and Vers to 20% i beleive.

Oh ok. Thanks. The talent change I think was the missing piece for me. It’s hard to get straight answers from guides online sometimes.

Someone more skilled may come in and have different ideas but those are my findings after asking around.

*sonic voice * GOTTA GO FAST MAN

More haste = more/faster casts = more procs (Visions of Perfection) + faster damage (GoSup window like Murklock said) = (more damage) + faster damage = more damage x 2

You have to see what you enjoy though. Even at close to 60% haste I didn’t enjoy Erad+IC in dungeons. In m+ I still like flashover+RE.

In raids the haste feels great but my dps is much better with an Infinite Stars III & slightly reduced haste. Specially since the stars is affected by our amped up haste.

Would be nice to hear from better locks what they feel, but I would still be careful before spending all your currency on Expedients.

Agree on the Infinite stars for Single Target. 1 x IS and the rest haste is nice.

No one has mentioned that if you’re running rolling havoc, the extra haste gives consistent 10 stacks of RH everytime. which then results in bigger bolts.

Also if you run erad+ic, it’s a very haste demanding build. I run about 7 pieces of expedient 3 and haste is still my highest stat weight. Bear in mind, all this is for 2t cleave. Whole other story if it’s pure st.

You can run infinite stars but it loses a lot of value with more than 1 target. The main value with infinite stars is once you reach 10 stacks and procs beyond the first 10. With multiple targets getting to 10 is harder to achieve.

Flashpoint is hugely amplified by Expedient which allows us to not take Backdraft or Reverse Entropy. Flashpoint has massive uptime in both PvP and PvE which gives us a better-than-bloodlust haste buff at all times.
