There are a few things in the talents that on the surface seem like - is that for real?! it sort seems pointless. An example of this is Xuen’s Bond. IF you take this passive talent and you activate Combo Strikes - Invoke Xuen (2 minute cool down) has it’s cool down reduced by 0.25 seconds. So what am i missing here? WHAT possible benefit do i gain by reducing a 2 minute cool down by 0.25 (1/4) seconds?
(i have my assumptions but based on the number of times CS happens in 2 mins…)

If you’re playing properly then combo strikes triggers on pretty much every ability you cast.

It’s best when used with Conduit of the Celestials Hero talents from what I can see.
During storm earth and fire, they each give the .25 reduction as well
So its a 1 cd reduction per attack during that CD, which does add up

It reduces the cool down every time Combo Strikes triggers, it isnt a flat 0.25 second CDR.
Youre also blatantly ignoring the 30% Xuen damage part for some reason
I did a quick 90 second sim with my crap gear and combo strikes would have triggered about 80 times, so 20 seconds reduced. Factoring in that storm earth and fire with 38% uptime though, its more like 35 seconds. So, I feel its safe to say that it would reduce the cooldown from 2 minutes to 1.5 minutes reliably, if not more.

But a 25% CD reduction on a CD is usually pretty good, dunno how vital Xuen is for dps

That’s a 0.25s reduction for every correctly done GCD. Honestly, it doesn’t sound amazing. 0.5s would be more impressive.
I love Tomestone and Bonestorn for that.

I honestly just pop tomb/storm just for the shattering + DRW reduction like 99% of the time
I can’t think of any times where I was like “golly I better save this ability for future use” cuz DRW just so good

if you’re playing right, it’s .25 second cd reduction every second because you use an ability that triggers combo strikes that often. meaning that 2 minute cooldown becomes a 1 minute 40 second cooldown.
If all you do is world content, you probably don’t care because nothing lives for longer than a minute at most, but that’s just your incentives being out of wack.
I think I buffed the spinning crane kick ( whatever its called) to maximize aoe in dungeon and let the tiger stay by the wayside.
I just figured max aoe would be handy in dungeon.
