Cosmetics don’t, you are correct. Awesome looking cosmetics do though, which is the purpose of the post. Fun can also a good motivator, but having something cool to work towards is what drives competition.

Outside of priest and maybe dk/warrior 1800 mogs are so bad. Even priest one normal raid looking better than elite one.

Legion had great cosmetics all throughout the expansion and was the first expansion with the new honor system along with its rewards. Yet there’s no evidence that it had a 50/50 playerbase split between PvE and PvP like MoP, which had terrible cosmetics but was peak fun.
The red version of the priest mog looks siiiick. Warrior I kinda like, but at the same time, it’s just an inferior version to one of the PvE models that has red and black instead of red and grey. DK one just kinda feels generic.
That is true, which is why I grinded out elite sets on not just my main, but my alts. I suppose that doesn’t matter though if one quits the game due to lack of fun, so you have a point.
Legion elite sets are bis.

They really, REALLY are. The set you’re wearing is one of the ones I grinded for on an alt cause it was so awesome. XD

I think 2s and 3s particcccciiippppation will be even lower than season 1 unless they add extremely high artificial inflation and colors to it
