The OLD world quest boss loot bug. This has happened since early legion. Basically if you die during world boss, and it dies while you’re running back, the world quest completes and you don’t get loot. Wouldn’t normally die on a world boss but I landed on Nathanos’s roof and put Vampiric touch on him then got one shot with a voice line to come down and face him. This will get a lot of people only amplifying the complaints about this issue. How is there not an internal checklist for world quest boss design at Blizzard - I have seen this issue many times before. Why is this over 6 hours respawn time and not 100% drop. One or the other please. Spawn every 30 mins and low drop rate OR spawn every 6 hours 100% drop rate.
Farming this event on alts will be awful. The transmogs are LAZY RECOLORS. Why make them require so many tokens. Doing this for each of 4 armor times will take such a painful amount of time (this is why they killed multiboxing recently). Should have BOA token drops from rares like timeless isle or something that you can send to your alts. Farming the bag on alts will be worse.
This whole event stinks of lazy design and deliberate wastage of player’s time. Gotta get that average login time over 60 minute now hey Blizz? New growth KPI! that 53 minutes per user per day mustn’t have been enough for the activision overlords.
Oh yeah and lastly it’s really hard to vote with your wallet with this company. They sell a character boost for $80. They sell base version of new expac for less than $80. They do this 1 year before release. So even if you just buy base game for character boost, when they completely butcher the game you can no longer not buy it weeks/months before release. I don’t preorder any other game but the in game goodies and character boost draw cards make it insane not to, which is actualyl really annoying when they fail to deliver a good product in the end.
EDIT: So I just killed Garfrost, first rare kill this event. Couldn’t even push my buttons of my rotation because the lag is so damn bad when 40+ people fight anything in this game. GET A GRIP ON THIS ISSUE BLIZZARD. As Preach gaming said “the number one thing that will affect his enjoyment of the game is not being able to play it” in regards to epic bg’s and world bosses and even some raid fights.
You can expect more, but you should start with expecting more of yourself.
All the people who were upset and surprised by the event really should start by asking themselves why they weren’t discussing this in August when it was on the PTR.
Its not a great event, but the time for that discussion was long ago.
Now after the delay we are lucky they even had an event probably.
The rest would fall in with that advance preparation, minus the server issues.
I have not had any issues with servers, but the areas of the world have been pretty laggy for sure.
They aren’t even recolors are they? Its likely intentionally not rare, because if you followed the game you would know a top tier influencer for wow nearly shut down the customer service department after opening many tickets trying to convince GMs to give him the transmog from the last scourge event, which he eventually received in error. Then the ensuing floods likely contributed heavily to why they did not make unique gear obtainable again.
Either way, you can just camp rares and get just shy of 50 of these scourgestones every 20 minutes nearly afk.
That’s 3+ of the tokens you need.
You’d be done in a few days if you needed every item, but I doubt you do, as the appearances were shared with the Arathi Warfront gear, at least they appear to be for me.
If you do feel that way though, you can just not participate.
They seemingly intentionally made it so there is no limited time stuff, so what is driving you to be concerned with not feeling engaged in this event?
It’s literally just AFK 20 minutes between rares. That’s not engaging. Low drop rate of bag being the biggest gripe. It’s like that soundless rare in Nazjatar, multiple spawn locations, long spawn timer (aeonaxx, TLPD for example) but 0.4% drop rate instead of 100%. Rustfeather and Arachnoid harvester also low drop rate but at least they spawned in fixed locations with short spawn timers. The rule they should never break is having a longer spawn timer AND a low drop rate. It is literally spitting on customers with no respect for their time.
Getting 115 weapons on all my alts is plenty enough, so far I haven’t had any disappointments, just hope monk and frost dk get a second 1h weapon next week too.
The fault is not in the company that makes the product, but in the customers who buy that product but who negligently failed to test it before it’s official release and provide feedback on it to the company. Because as we all know perfectly well, all that feedback would have been promptly acted upon and the content changed accordingly.
Just like with a restaurant: if the food is bad, it’s not the chef’s fault but the dining customer for not taste testing it first and providing feedback to the chef.
No, I should be expecting more of the company I pay money to. Content is the heart beat of this game and the prepatch is barely recognisable as content. While Shadowlands itself will have a lot of content, this couple of weeks doesn’t qualify.
And saying anything on the forums during testing a prepatch - do you think anyone at Blizzard is going to pay attention to players expressing a negative view? They don’t care. They have done this style of prepatch a number of times before. Expecting different results…no not many of us were.
Yes they are. To quote wowhead: “This loot is a higher item level version of the Darkshore Warfront rewards from Patch 8.1”.
Make excuses all you want, but this event is underwhelming because of feedback.
The main thing about it was meant to be the ghoul pvp thing, and people whined so insanely hard they basically removed it.
Either way, you wouldn’t be here making threads about being disappointed if you actually tested the content.
That’s my point.
You can take the easy way out and blame blizzard 100 percent, or you can admit that if you participated in the discussion 3 months ago, you’d at least not be blindsided by what was released.
Either way, this event is a culmination of what the community has shaped, for better or for worse.
Well, I can tell you weren’t part of the testing then, because they released a hole big post about what they were changing with the event due to “feedback.”
Either way, this is a free event. You didn’t pay for it.
Its not necessary for anything at all, and it sucks because this community pressed blizzard to not add any more limited time transmogs and got the ghoul event neutered to the point of it not even being present???

Uh yes, indirectly. Proper PTR testing helps identify bugs and gets them fixed.
I don’t know about this lag thing though.
All I can tell you is if you are surprised by lag on high pop realms its probably time to get off.
Its going to be WAY worse during launch.
