What is the argument? “We don’t need a new WoW, we have WoW 8 already!”
That, isn’t true. Not at all. I’m sorry, but the dev team has had a lot to learn in this game that they struggle to implement as features in expansions for it.

And we still don’t need a new WoW. Just like everquest didnt need another one that split base and resources killing it and lineage sequel died for the same reason. And so on.
Thank you for coming,
We have old wow in eternal maintence mode if you wish.
To me an expanson IS a sequel though story wise as you find out what happens next
Why don’t we need a new WoW, because the playerbase is eternal? Because the gameplay is flawless?
Because the idea is stupid.
You are welcome.
The expansion HAS become the base game. WoW Classic is cool for me, because I didn’t know WoW before Cataclysm. And I can get a character boost today to be “the Chomp’eeon” of Azeroth, just to play the game at all.
What makes you think ‘WoW 2’ would fix this?
We have updated graphics, new zones that get added, old content being redone and reworked every so often, new game systems, new features, old zones changing into new zones…
What else is there? Do you just want to delete your character along with all of your mounts, pets, and all your other progress that badly? just so that the logo has a big “#2” on it? What are you asking for anyway? Enlighten me.
This has never been an argument.
Look above you.
There’s a reason each expac gets a new version number and we’re working towards WoW 9.0. Any drastic changes desired to upgrade the game to a new version can and should be implemented in a new expansion.
Most people aren’t going to want to lose all the work they put into their characters. Characters that some have literally been playing and growing for over 15 years.
There’s no reason to wipe the slate clean. All that does is piss off the existing player base
How to play WoW #2: a step by step guide.
Congratulations, the game is almost unrecognizable, just like a real life sequel.
Blizzard would be real happy with that, I’m sure
Well, actually that seems to be their plan so…
There are PLENTY of hardworking developers who are worth MY time, anyways.
It’s ok. I can rent Photoshop and put a big beautiful “#2” on the box art. Normally I want to profit off of my hard work but for you, $5.
You do know that when Shadowlands is released they are completely re-designing how are you level your character. They are practically redesigning the game itself to do so, one could argue that Shadowlands will be a new version of World of Warcraft.
One could. But then one would look at the game their fresh characters still play.
Just quit. You’re not getting WoW 2.
WoW 2 would have a different expansion system, for starters. Look at the Campaigns of WC3. I think that would be a great way to go. A new expansion opens a new “campaign” (makes sense, right) and you can transfer a character over for free, or more for a low fee. Blizzard opens new campaigns, but you can still play the old campaigns. You can deep-dive that last tier if you want from that one campaign until your hearts desire. You guys think I care about the 3 weeks you took out of 2009 to get an x-mog I can solo today, as if I should.
I shouldn’t. IT’S GARBAGE.
Their fresh characters will be able to level up to 120 in any pre SL expansion
I think I could show you my concept art for a WoW #2. It took a lot of work but this is the general direction I was thinking. I feel like the orange font really contrasts well against the dark backdrop of the box.
I couldn’t just leave it with a #2 though, so I added the subtitle to really sell the fact that this is indeed a sequel.

(this is a joke)
As long as the fanbase is holding Blizzard hostage for their garbage, who knows. Maybe you can get one of them to buy it off you like you’re an artist or something.
