Can we please get expansion based servers - that way we can live in the world we want to - move on if we want to - etc.

You’d have your own personal server.
You can do what you want now with all the classic era stuff
I read that warmode came, in part at least, because they wanted ONE server type to work on instead of two.
somehow I seriously doubt theyre gonna do much of anything that causes them more pointless work…and this idea sounds like its screaming “MORE WORK” lol

You mean… Classic?
It would spread the player base too thin. However, as it is they do run multiple expansions. You can run several different versions of Classic Vanilla with the Original, SoD, Hardcore and Aniversery and you can run Classic Cat, about to go over to Panda.
And there is Chromie Time and Time Walking.
Plenty of choices.

Playerbase doesn’t need to be split between more modes.
Because this is very unpopular and would splinter the playerbase.
Classic progression fell off hard in late WotLK and died in Cata. There isnt a large enough playerbase to populate every xpac at once.
Classic players by and large want to play classic or a classic+ SOD type of game, and retail players want to play the current game.
Are you seriously suggesting retail and classic are the same playerbase?
