I would think so. Those bronze statues are fantastic and really are something I am sure they kept. The ones at the Irvine office get moved to Blizzcon every year. All of them have maintenance and repair schedules too and the orc gets a scheduled special cleaning! They clean it with FIRE!
The furure of wow is brighter than ever welcome!
I prefer bronze with the patina.
Welcome to the new devs!
Iām not a fan of Asheronās Call style secret quests, but it is one of the classics. DDO and LOTRO were fun in the brief time I played them (the F2P mechanics eventually became a wall). I wonder how many current devs at the studio actually date back to those early days?
Anyway, fresh eyes and imaginations unleashed on the world.
Well since Classic already existed they donāt need 100 new devs to create anything. Deductive reasoning could have answered that question for you.
āit appears that the Proletariat staff will continue to be headquartered in Boston, working remotely on Dragonflight and future Blizzard projects.ā
Wonder how they will make WoW even more pay to win.
Boston is 3 hours ahead of California as well so it gives them an increased daily production window.
Notice how it also says āBlizzardā acquired them and not āActivision Blizzardā? Since people love to always think Activision owns/ed Blizzard (I mean obviously MS purchased them but it takes about a year for it to be final etc.)
For the price they are asking for, it better be. Old content gets not reworked (maps, old mount models, set items), too much FOMO tied to lore-based importance, the story is a mess and gameplay-wise the game was better when it was not about MAUs.
If they had at least the dignity to AI upscale older resources so they look clean (machine learning), this would be a start.
Good, because make no mistake Blizzard, your in-house development team has 0 skills, 0 ambition and is 0 effective. Shadowlands will go down as bar none the worst expansion I have ever had the actual displeasure to play, and lets not even mention current PVP which is simply stupid. Justā¦ just stupid.
But I have very large hopes for the team behind Lord of the Rings Online. That was a fun as hell game.
Mmmm, I think you will find many people that still place WoD in that spot.
literally not. SL is now the most hated expansion on many popular forums. And honestly, it IS actually factually terrible.
A whole world exists outside forums and fan sites.
Then agree to disagree. Not really a point going back and forth if none of us actually have verifiable data.
I still am very hopeful that the devs behind literally the best mmo i ever played and its expansion (Lotro and Mines of Moria) are here.
Thatās fair. I am not familiar with their work, but I have seen a lot of people excited about it so I will take that as a good sign.
This just to acquire some IP rights and then dump the staff.
Grats but like, what does this mean for the game? Last I checked arena style games arenāt MMOs.
As a former hard core LOTRO player I hope and pray that some of the devs from Lotro during the Shadows of Angmar, Mines of Moria and Seige of Mirkwood days are apart of this team.
Lotro during those days was bar none the best MMO Iāve ever played. That period had engaging world events, fantastic Raids and Instances, but more importantly Lotro was innovative. Monster play, Radiance, Fellowship Maneuvers, Music System, were all incredibly innovative even if they all fell flat. The Class quest chains, Legendary Skills (books) were deeper than anything done at that time or even since. The legendary Item system while it ended up disappointing I was apart of Beta and know what the initial vision was for that system. But still, years ahead of what anyone else was doing.
Story/book quests were fantastic. Hero play was yet another feather in Turbineās Cap. Who else did that at that time? Being able to tell a story from the eyes of another was awesome.
Lotro never ended up being as big as it needed to be to continue pumping money into it the way they did early on. But early Lotro was on another level. From story telling, to world building (Name another zone in any game better than Moria)
So hereās hoping some of those devs are apart of this team. Talented group of people.
