Expand timewalking, and keep it always active

Timewalking is one of the greatest features added to WoW to me. I love past expansions, I love having a current expansion reason to return to older content. I love to relive older dungeons that hold memories, and just get a change of pace from current expansion stuff which helps reduce burn out.

Timewalking should be available all the time. A new “era” per week rotating like they do but faster as 1 will always be active. This allows people like myself to always have an “escape” from burn out, and also lets players like myself level alts whenever (I only alt level in timewalking).

Timewalking needs to be expanded. Why are they limited to such a short dungeon pool? I know sometimes they remove some and add some, but WoD timewalking should include ALL of WoD dungeons. Why pick and choose? Everyone will have different favourites that they miss. Plus doing same 5 dungeons all week = higher odds of repeats. More dungeons = more fun.

Why haven’t we had a “Classic” timewalking yet? As someone with all my characters level 60+ and unable to make more(at cap) there’s nothing I miss more then the original classic dungeons(and no, I do not and refuse to play “Classic” WoW versions). I just want the ability to level and play max level characters in classic dungeons with them being brought to ‘current’ level again.

Also, I think it’s time to have an official BFA timewalking and even a shadowlands timewalking. Once an expansion isn’t “current”, it should be added to the timewalking rotation.

Chromie time was also a great addition to level and enjoy older content, but it doesn’t let you get to max level in it (can’t currently use it to get to 70) and I understand the reasoning, but this is why I feel timewalking is even extra important. It feels bad being max level and feeling “stuck” in current content and this is why burn out is such an issue. Nobody wants to be stuck doing the same 8 dungeons for 2 years straight. I was burnt out on Shadowlands dungeons, but now I actually miss them and would love to have a week I could go back and revisit them again.

If getting 1 “normal” raid piece a week is too OP from the quest(which I don’t think it is) then maybe lower the reward of the weekly to an LFR ilvl or something if it’s available every single week.

All I am saying, more timewalking = more desire to login and do things and less burn out over time.

I agree with this, we could also make it so Chromie time leveling gets an extra boost (10% extra XP or so, don’t need to get crazy) if you level in the appropriate expansion for the ongoing timewalking (So doing wotlk quests would give you extra XP during wotlk timewalking and so on) to spice up and give people a reason to not just go to the fastest most efficient expansion for leveling (usually WoD or WoTLK)

I’d like to be able to flip a toggle that makes the Open World always scale to my level, everywhere.

So I can quest wherever in the World I want, and still get level-relevant loot.

I’m spoiled by GW2 and ESO though.

that said, everything dying in one-hit in old areas does have its advantages.

As long as fomo rewards stay fomo I’m all for it

I would be all about having timewalking as a constant option and having the choice between multiple different expansions…but…

I bet queue times would be really ugly.

You open up all of those options and people are going to be so spread out through them that the pool for each is going to be tiny.

Edit: Never mind I see that I misread the OP. Having one option ALWAYS available is a fantastic idea imo.

I disagree that events like this should be all the time. Especially given that the things people like about it would be removed, such as the quest reward and high XP gains.

Events for people to look forward to are good for the game. Otherwise, Timewalking dungeons just become another bland staple of the game for people to complain about how it doesn’t fit into the gearing ladder correctly, etc.

I would like to see an expansion on Timewalking that’s tied to Chromie Time.

Such as, even at max level, you could switch over to Chromie Time, which could include the following:

  • Return of specisl events going on throughout the expansion in question, e.g. zombies in Wrath.
  • Bonus experience for leveling through that expansion. Might make zones more populated for levelers.
  • Bonus honor/conquest to queue for expansion specific arenas and BGs.

I’m scared that if they did, they’d nerf the reward.

The last Timewalking Raid added was Firelands in 8.2.5 back in 2019 lol.

Yeah, Blizz should absolutely expand legacy content. Like right now, Timewalking WoD is up but only 5/8 dungeons and 0/3 raids are playable…
