Modest exp boosts are fine in 20+ zones where quests start becoming more scarce and you have to do a lot of zone hopping. But 1-20 zones are well paced with an abundance of quests so that you go from 1-12 and 12-20 after finishing all the quests in a single zone. With joyous journeys you would out level silverpine forest and the barrens if you did 1 dungeon run.
If the exp boost is only quest exp like SoM and stays 50%, it might be OK, but if it’s all sources of exp it will be a little bit too much for this bracket. Even quest exp for this bracket is borderline.
Hopefully you can just turn it off.

Leveling isn’t really fun to me… I wish they’d boost our experience gain til 60.
For most vanilla players, leveling is the game so this is a minority opinion.
But you’ll get your wish for alts eventually. Each phase will level boost the previous one. And this works OK for brackets 20-60 since the leveling is non-linear and has a lot of zone hoping and dead zones.
That’s debatable and subject to opinions.
Well it won’t help me for alts, I don’t enjoy leveling enough to do another lol still gonna hope.
The game is basically unplayable when I have to kill 8 enemies to progress from level 1 to level 2. I’m glad it will only be 6 from now on.

Not really. Leveling is a major aspect of vanilla and why most die hards play it, and part of why we are getting content locked in different level phases. Expansions are when the game started shifting to a pure end game focus. In OG vanilla, end game was an after thought.

Again, that is debatable. I won’t entertain the back and forth, nor will I concede to agree without evidence of the such.
I’m not doubting there are people who enjoy the leveling experience in vanilla/classic, you seem like a level headed enough person, so we can leave it at that.
WotLK Classic had the TBC pre-patch and WotLK pre-patch level squish in addition to JJ, and XP increasing trinkets. It won’t be so severe in SoD.
But I do think it’s a good idea for a seasonal server. I certainly wouldn’t even consider levelling a new alt in later phases because I know I’d never hit cap. This should help keep healthy participation in lower levels without making the levelling process a pushover.
50% of some 120-odd hours to level 60 is still 60 hours. That’s not trivial by any stretch.

The TBC level squish only affects levels after 20. And the first JJ was during TBC.
Nonetheless, the effect of JJ in TBC Classic and WotLK Classic was more pronounced than it will be in SoD. In the latter we’re getting a flat 50%, whereas in the former it was more akin to 70% and 110%, respectively.
