Any thoughts on why this name change happened? Very trivial, just interesting that they’d change a 12 year old item name. Couldn’t find notes on it happening either!

Maybe “exotic” seemed too generic a term (or is associated with certain types of dancers).
I just noticed this when I couldn’t find any in the AH. Whatever the reason you just know it was probably a dumb one.

The word exotic has gotten a negative connotation in recent years due to some seeing people from different ethnicities as “exotic” in a fetishistic manner. In general anything that sexualizes specific groups of people is being slowly scrubbed by Blizzard. Other examples are the Twin Consorts renamed to the Twin Empyreans, and “harem” sections of raids such as Kharazan and the Black Temple had men added to them.
