Some time ago, I ran a druid character through Exile’s Reach as part of my attempt to obtain all the transmog available. I left the character there because I simply couldn’t obtain one last item–Tunk’s Backscratcher, the staff which apparently never drops. I hoped some day the item would be reported to drop and I could resume my hunt for it.
Today, I discovered that the character had been automatically ported to Stormwind and given the new starter set of gear and all of their old stuff mailed to them.
So now we can’t even stay in Exile’s Reach indefinitely? Weird. Anyone else have this happen?
Did you accidentally do the Gear Upgrade option for that character? The Gear Upgrade process will: send you mail with your old stuff, give you new gear, clear your quests, and teleport your character to Stormwind/Orgrimmar. I also suspect that after some level/time, the game will automatically kick you out of Exile’s Reach (since there’s no point for non-low level people to be there), however, I have not experienced that yet.
Nope. I’ve purposefully not done the Gear Update on a bunch of my low levels, and this one I intended to stay on Exile’s Reach until the end of time if necessary.
So I guess maybe they really do kick you out after so many months. Maybe if you’re level 10 and after 6 months or a year or whatever.
IIRC, the only weapon Tunk drops that’s 100% unique is the 1h mace, the rest of them are also available from various drops, quest rewards, and treasures on Draenor.
Pretty sure I have those. But you know how it is when you have “you have collected this appearance but not from this item” via AllTheThings and your completionist lizard brain is like “I need it from this item too…”
