Execute should give at least 2-3 stacks of Slaughtering Strikes, feels bad to press Execute and lose Rampage damage or cap too much rage. Also they could prob make Reckless Abandon also change Execute into Condemn for extra (shadow) damage and the damage absorption utility if needed.
For fury, if they decide to keep their tier set unchanged, i agree execute needs to be a better button to press for that spec. For arms, i love execute and think its absolutely perfect for the single target build it performs in. Personally, although it would be crazy unheard of, since execute isnt even priority in alot of forum-goblins opinions (math says execute SHOULD be and the tier actually DOES increase overall dps when execute is used properly) why not just remove execute from fury altogether and replace it with Onslaught and a few talents that make Onslaught the “new execute” build, utilizing the already synergistic slaughtering strikes talent and some other new options. Maybe it would further differentiate the two builds.
Execute needs to be changed from a rage generator for fury back to a spender, and it should be a rampage substitute.
As in not a replacer, but it should be affected by all the things that affect rampage (slaughtering strikes, etc), and it should trigger enrage if the target doesn’t die. Then they need to make improved execute double the damage and rage cost instead of simply generate rage, and then getting sudden death procs would actually feel good as a damaging ability. It would be like rampage but stronger, with limited usage.
Execute has always felt weird to me. Mostly 20k sometimes 100k. I wish it had a damage profile more like always 50k sometimes 100k
I could get used to that ![]()
God damn that would have to be a massive buff to it’s damage to make it worth using over Rampage. Too much of our play cycle revolves around rampage.
I suggested this as a tier bonus.
Honestly, I’ll probably just go Arms next patch. Our trash tier set is staying the same.
The real problem with that is that, again, the tier set will be related to a talent. It needs to be IN the talent. Make the tier set related to the CORE kit not a Talent Tree :S
I agree, but it would work for both Annihilator and Crushing Blow. I highly doubt Blizzard will do something like this, though.
I see this on the warrior forums all the time but have people said anything on a forum where they will actually be heard?
Of course. Obviously if it was just less damage than rampage nobody would ever use it, just like what is debated to be the case now because of it being weaker damage than crushing blow. And of course… execute could also be “fixed” by simply pumping up its damage and being done with it, which would be fine too. It would be the simplest solution and is exactly what most people are begging for. In the end it just needs to feel impactful and good to use I think, particularly since it has been such a poster child skill for warrior since the beginning of the game.
Changing it so Execute also causes 20% Slaughtering Strike and removing the gimped Annihilate stacks (2% is beyond pathetic) would be a huge improvement, especially for Bloodthirst/Annihilate with tier 4pc bonus.
I really don’t know whats wrong with these devs. They need an entire expansion development cycle to come up with ideas I could in a single night, then refuse to change anything for over a year. All these unacceptable excuses about “class fantasy” when they’ve done nothing but destroy Warrior’s identity that was cemented throughout “classic”.
Execute is Warrior’s most iconic ability (literally naming the 20-35% Health as “Execute phase”), and they threw it into the dumpster with BFA. They almost threw it into the dumpster with WoD, trying to make Wild Strike and Rampage “a thing”, but thankfully in Legion they backpedaled.
Rampage and Raging Blow are just bad ideas and don’t need to be in the game. Anything Rampage does right now can be replaced with Whirlwind, and anything Raging Blow does can be replaced with Slam.
- Rampage - Your Whirlwind now deals % increased damage and Enrages you, but costs 80 rage.
- Raging Blow - Whenever you Enrage, your next Slam is free.
Any talent associated with Rampage can associated with Whirlwind, Slam, or Execute.
-
Slaughering Strikes - Every time you hit with Slam or Execute, your next Whirlwind deals 20% more damage to the primary target.
-
Frenzy - Every time you Slam or Execute you gain 2% Haste, up to 8%.
Also bring back Deep Wounds for Fury. Gushing Wounds is stupid, especially since it doesn’t accumulate like it did in BFA, and both Arms and Prot have access to Deep Wounds with heal talent. Its a no brainer.
Imo, it’d be cool to remove execute from fury/prot.
Thats was my suggestion! Leave execute in arms as it really does work so well and feels good to play there, then rework the entire “execute” phase around Onslaught, updating that ability to fit in with furys playstyle and needs during an execute phase. Done and done.
Tried to gather as much info from the forums and posted on General Discussion. Dunno how often Blizzard actually pays attention to it but if y’all could bump it somehow. Say what u want to say, ideas anything.
The execute animation also doesn’t look the best with two weapons. But with one big 2hander to looks like it slaps.
Wow, Reckless Abandon turning execute into Condemn is actually the best idea I’ve heard in a very long time. That’s wicked cool.
Reckless Abandon has the potential to be the most fun talent ever and I will never understand why they made it boring. They could make crushing blow dashes to the target again or increase the range or even better, make the CB crit damage higher than usual. They could make Bloodbath apply a bleed to help with the bleed build. Could also make Slam turn into something extra with more utility or damage to boost Anihilator, imagine if it applied a buff that your auto attacks cleave for Xs or something that affects auto attack like attack speed etc…the possibilities are infinite. It could even make Rampage changes into something else and stronger but wouldn’t reapply the buff since it’s not Rampage making it harder but rewarding somehow. There’s a lot to do but they went to the boring spammy route. Wish they were faster at changing stuf…
