The thread topics about people sharing their memories and happy anticipation is becoming more common. Also, something else is increasing, though. The time nears. This waiting time shortens. The worry of those who anticipate the worst first smoldered as if it would die, but I sense the beginning of a resurge. It’s coming. Excitement is growing, but for those who fear 1.12 it feels like fire. The internal anguish roils the guts and inflames the mind. Their thoughts are incendiary. The absence of dev action to meet the expectation of those who played for 18+ months before the last patch of “vanilla” is fueling the fire.
What will they say? Will they call it a bait and switch? Blizzard doesn’t control the memories of the biggest fans, but they do control the patch. The memories are the bait, and the patch is the switch. Do you see? Do you feel it? The words. The bolding. The feels. Keep watching because it’s coming.
Anyone who will call it a bait and switch doesn’t know what a bait and switch is. The developers have been nothing but up front about this being 1.12 and what that entails (while even doing a little better by having a tiered release of some content).
