Excess Marks of Honor

Hey y’all,

I had asked, previously, about excess honor: what to do with it (when all the xmogs, etc for Marks are collected)? The answer: do the honor-to-shield conversion is working great. ty for that one.

But now I am facing another: excess Marks of Honor, what to do with em? I don’t spend honor on them any more, I solo Q so I don’t win all the time, but they are still piling up.

I really don’t want any more than one stack. Is there a gold/other conversion for these?

I did not see anything like Heirloom Upgrades, etc. when doing an internet search. Most of the rssults are people looking to collect them, not get rid of them.

I know some of you have seen this problem, so I am wondering what your solution is. tyty!

Edit:

What I found so far…

Some of the Warlords Season Glad equipment vendors for 20-30g ea, cost 2-3 Marks. So maybe 1 Mark = 10g. Idk how that will work in the future as ilvl/character level increases. I have not checked Legion items yet…I think things started changing in BFA+, so that it was just armor/wepaon sets, etc. and nothing to vendor.

If I find more I’ll add it. If anyone knows of anything better, let me know.

i half 2 many but i use them on moggies n consumables like 3st wind poshuns

Yah I have most the moggies and will get the rest.

I don’t much like consumables, beyond healing potions, food I’ve cooked and 1 profession based item such as sharpening stones, etc. so I don’t use Marks on em as it’s wasted for me.

I’m going to check Legion next and see if there is anything there worth converting Marks into gold or something…

Some consumables like the third-wind potion sells for like 6g a piece on my server on AH, sometimes as much as 13g. By the time that I had spent many many thousand Honor on packaged honor to mail to alts to gear them, after playing them a bit I started focusing on battleground Blitz on my Hunter.

Deckarcain I did not even think of selling those! ty! I will look into that. The WoD gear conversion is prolly only until TWW and then it will drop to MoP levels, or who knows, where the gear bought sells for 3-6g ea. You can buy 1 Mote of Harmony for 2 Marks of Honor from one MoP PvP vendor…that means 20 Marks for a Spirit of Harmony, which sells for…50g or so atm. not great at all.

But, selling the consumables is good news. ty again!

Edit: Well frick the ones I am seing are bought for Honor. I’m looking to unload Marks of Honor. Is there a place to buy those potions/consumables for Marks that I am missing?

u shuld use 3st wind they r like 50% heel its opaf

I know. A lot of the consumables are pretty OP. I don’t begrudge others usin’ 'em.

I just have my druid brew up some healing potions and those get divided out to the crew.

Buy honor gear and resell it for gold.

I do that with Honor.

What I’m curious about is Marks of Honor. Those pile up.

I’m getting some conversion grabbing some odd xmogs from WoD…seriously, check some of those out, there are extra pieces that are not part of the default PvP set at each vendor in Stormshield/Warspear.

Anyway, it is Marks of Honor, not Honor. I do the Honor-to-shield conversion with current gear.

I use the marks to buy Third-Wind Potions, Saltwater Potions, Heightened Sense (see stealth) Potions, and feasts to drop in BGs.
There are vendors in Deepwind and Seething that sell them, so I just pick them up when I join one of those maps.

Ahh I see now. TY Xenstrike, I forgot about those. I bet that was what Deckarcain was referring too as well. I just quickly checked the vendors in Val.

I’ll check the epic bgs starting areas too. Much appreciated!

o.0 Ohh no you didn’t!

I totally forgot about that as well. Well, maybe the incoming Mark of Honor apocalypse I foresaw was a tad premature.

Poor Alliance are getting rolled these last two games. I feel kinda bad.

In summary:

  • gear - for transmog or vendor for gold
  • consumables - for use on alts/mains or sell in AH for gold
  • pvp mounts, but there aren’t that many of these

Yep yep. ty Leadbelly. And ty all for the advise.

You already got all the Expansions weapon set? Those are 80 a pop, quite expensive.

I second the Warlords of Draenor vendor gear, it isn’t much gold but it is something. Some piece do sell for 40g I think.

I’m betting long term, that one day they’ll introduce a new item for Mark of Honors and I like to keep a stash just in case.

I use the Brutal Gladiator(level 30) and Cataclysm Gladiator (level 35) when leveling alts, to get them an OP set of pvp gear.

If you do low level BG’s these are higher ilvl than what you can get from dungeons at the same level.

have the picture of the honor mark printed onto tile and update your kitchen countertops with a fancy backsplash

I do have all the weapon sets and all the armor sets for at least 5 classes. I might be missing some odd pieces, but the marks come so quickly (whereas the Honor Levels are sooo slow lol!), they are stacking up and so not super worried about minor pieces here and there as I’ll get them eventually.

The WoD gold conversion won’t last into next expansion as the ilvl grow and the vendor gold lowers. We can buy the pvp health potions from vendors in a few bgs and AH those.

I agree that they will provide an outlet at some point. I was just curious if anyone had solutions until then. I won’t start seriously worrying about it until I am approaching a second stack again, which will be a bit as I just got all the pvp sets for a new class and that lowered the stack amount a few hundred or more.

The what? Never heard of it.

So I put up another thread a bit ago asking what to do with excess Honor. You know before it hits 15k.

The best suggestion was buy the Honor shields, which sell for about 50g each. This ends up being a 12% or so Honor to gold conversion for excess Honor. It was the best suggestion for getting rid of Honor (~10k Honor=1.2K gold or so). This, of course, assuming you have all the Marks of Honor mogs collected, etc.

I noticed that even not buying Marks of Honor they were piling up. So I started this thread. And it looks like WoD epic gear and Potions of Healing from vendors in the BGs (and AH those) is the other sink…assuming one does not use the consumables, which I do not.
