Does this actually drop? Can anyone confirm? Personally, I’ve not seen it drop yet. Not for me, not for others (I did some Big Digs in raids, so I could see the loot others got). With all the bugs surrounding the event and the Archivist questline I wonder if this hat not dropping is also a bug.
I looked the item up on Wowhead and also noticed that it’s a rare (blue) item, while the rest of the Excavator’s set are all epics (purple). Considering we got the initiate’s hat, another blue hat for free, is it possible that this is also going to be a free reward? Or sold by a vendor?
Or perhaps we need a higher reputation to get this hat to drop? I’d love to know what’s up.
I have noticed this as well it has not dropped yet even with multiple of tomes and killing boss constantly. People have mentioned as well they feel this item is bugged so you are not the only one. I am sure it’s available but its been a couple days now since farming and I have gotten all of the armor pieces except the Fedora.
Everyone on WoWhead reported that they got everything, but this to drop on first day.
Let’s ask the real question: does it cut all your hair off?

Which is why I don’t wear any helmets at all anymore…I hate cutting off my long braids as a dwarf cause they spin when I am fighting and its damn cool looking…

My druid Worgen wears a small green looking cap …It goes with those Living Wings you can get in WoD raid…the cap looks okay on her…most of my alts don’t wear any helmets I hate cutting off my hair looks…esp on my Gnomes…with the twin pig tails…
As you can see, I like the glasses. They make my doggo look smort.

LOL yeah I use glasses on this toon a quite a few of my gnomes too…esp the granny ones on my Mage and Priest…
I have maxed out the rep (Tenured 5/5) and still have not gotten this to drop. I don’t believe it is tied to the rep at all nor from the dig. Perhaps it is a random drop from the world quests or the weekly.
What?! I thought I was being hardcore about it and I’m only halfway through 3. How did you already reach 5?
My best guess is realm-hopping to find events which have the Immaculate Tome listed as the next drop, as it’s a guaranteed 100 rep. I haven’t been that hardcore and would probably hit 3 today if I had time.
Kind of insane the lengths people go to when there’s not even a reward for it. I thought I was being pretty sweaty grinding the 20k for the mount and I’m only 2/5 still.
Something like this, yes. Could get anywhere from 300-600 rep per event. Most I got per event was 750. Plus I’m human.
No hair, no problem! They can’t cut off what isn’t there! And dang, my combover looks good!

do you get anything from the reps or is this a waste of a rep?
Other than contributing to the meta achievement https://www.wowhead.com/achievement=19790/the-archives-called-you-answered, which eventually leads to a title, I got nothing specifically from the rep.
