okay so i think my friend told me a fib or he read something online that was not true.
If i am exalted in say Vol’dun on my priest, will i be able to go on my warrior and go to the vol’dun vendor cat dude, an be able to buy stuff even though i’m only “honoured” on that character ? basically does rep carry over ?
Yes and no. For your purposes, however, the answer is “yes”.
Credit towards things that require specific reputation ranks (reputation vendors, Azerite necklace upgrade quests, Pathfinder, etc.) were made account-wide in the most recent major content patch (I forget the number… 8.1, maybe?). What this means is effectively that all characters on your account have “credit” for reaching whatever your highest tracked reputation level is for every faction, regardless of whether you have reached that level on the specific character.
What does not carry over is individual progress. So your character who is only Honored will not get the “paragon” rewards for re-capping each faction until they have reached Exalted on their own and re-capped the rep.
I thought Champions of Azeroth was the only faction that carries over to alts, and that is only for the Heart of Azerite reward levels?
I think you still need to get revered/exalted with each faction if you want to purchase items and/or recipes from the rep vendor.
Yep, seems you’re correct. I just checked the 7th Legion vendor on this toon (who is only at Revered with all factions, although my hunter is Exalted) and the Exalted rep items are locked.
It may have been a bug on release of the patch that allowed alts to purchase rep-locked items which has since been fixed, or it could have just been that I misremembered what I was seeing.
Basically the run down is:
Champion of Azeroth artifact upgrades are BoA unlocks now.
If you earn a rep-tied mog, the rep requirement for the appearance is dropped so anyone on your account can use it.
If you buy the upgrade token for each Mists rep, that upgrade is a BoA deal.
Buying vendor items, factional vendor discounts, the paragons, and anything else like that are still split by your individual character’s progress.
woah okay, so basically it’s more of a grind on each character i play. i started on my priest an dont like it anymore but its revered in most faction’s and i cbf doing it on my warrior all again. might have to though
