Evoker Visage and Transmog

Good day Blizzard and Community,

I would like to know everyones opinion on the possibility of disabling dragon form.

Now I know blizzards new shiny class is built around being a Dragon, but lets be real, I was to look nice in some awesome transmogs and quite frankly, the dragon model just kills my vibe.

Blizzard, please consider an option to disable Dragon form and perhaps make out visage forms have wings during “dragon spells” and Hover etc.

I know this will probably be ignored, but you gotta try.

Thank you

I thought this thread was going to be about making dracthyr and visage separate transmogs and was going to smash the :blue_heart: so fast you have no idea.

I literally do not care what they do with visage in the future unless they let us use other races as a base.

True, we also need more barber shop options to be honest.

When news about the Chosen Identity thingy came out I thought it would automatically revert you back to visage once you cast your “required dragon form” spells, unfortunately it wasn’t the case, would still like that to be the case in the future however.

But in all seriousness, I think I wouldn’t mind Dragon Form as much if I could just transmog it, even if I would prefer to play the “elf/human sorcerer” version of the Dracthyr fantasy.

I hate to be that person but the entire point of the class is to be a dragon. It’s like asking to play a DH without wings or transforming into a demon

People dont ask this for demon hunter because

  • A. The demon form actually looks cool

  • B. Demon form is the not your main appearance

If either one of the 2 above was for dracthyr no one would have an issue. I see no issue with letting your visage be your primary combat form when not doing certain spells like empower spells/hover/deep breathe. They are based on the female human and male blood elf forms anyway its not like animations are an issue.

I hate to be that guy but I don’t play DH because I think they look super lame and the running animation looks terrible.

Different strokes for different folks.

right, and as long as you accept you are a minority in this thats fine. Very few people complain about demon hunter animations or visuals, whereas dracthyr/evokers have it as a common complaint

I still don’t see why it’s different. Just don’t… play them. I never made threads about wanting to play a DH if I could just never see any of the DH trademarks.

I also still see more than plenty of Evokers running around so I’m hard pressed to choose what is streamer and GD memes or actual player consensus.

While I do agree with your point,

The analogy is a little of when comparing DH to Evoker.

DH only turn into their demon forms during actions of power, for example, Meta & Demonic. Glide is a case where their wings are revealed, but disappear on landing.

While preferences fluctuate in this topic, I understand that some have been asking for this very thing, in being able to cast most of the kit in visage, while briefly transforming for breath attacks.

I think the gameplay and class design is top notch, Just not the form and visuals. Sorry if that triggers you

I don’t think you’re in a position to be making that kind of accusation :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

yes i am…?

This isn’t my thread. If you don’t like the visuals then there are classes where aesthetics and gameplay will appeal to you in kind.

Except he said he likes the class gameplay and design, and no class plays like evoker?

I’d make the joke that no class plays like Evoker because Evoker is 1/3 of a class. There’s nothing controversial in saying that if you don’t like how the spec looks then don’t play it? Would you say druids shouldn’t have to tank in bear form?

I see the point, in that the people who care about seeing their character arent likely to play druid cause always in a form. Personally, I just dont play druid cause think they are too boring, but do like their animal forms…but that aside do see the point.

But I think evoker is more closer to DH to me than druid. And DH you can hide almost all the “demon” stuff in customization that you look almost like a normal night elf (or blood elf). And then their demon form is very temporary in combat. And like evoker, there is definitely no class that plays like a DH even if you took their demon form away which is temporary anyway like said and barely lasts long at all.

Either way, my stance on this is neutral anyway. I like the dragon form and think it looks fine, though I stay in human form 99% of the time except combat. And don’t really care. I just responded since the OP said he likes how the class plays, just not the dragon form.

And it is kinda true, there is no class that plays like an evoker and the dragon form doesnt really have anything to do with it tbh. If WoW was moddable and singleplayer like skyrim or something, you could just turn the dragon form into a human or dwarf or whatever and the class would still play exactly the same

either way though, like said, don’t really care and it doesn’t bother me. But the evoker is pretty unique as far as classes go, reminds me of wildstar gameplay actually.

I think if it was an option for people it wouldn’t bother me. I actually like the dragon form and stay in it a lot, even though I like my visage a lot too. I feel like dracthyr are opposite of worgen in that worgen were born human and can turn into a wolf, and dracthyr are born dragonkin that can turn into a human elf. But, the chosen form thing should be available for everyone, honestly. I’m all for letting people have options for their character appearance.

But, I hope Blizzard is working on updating more armor to fit the dracthyr form in the future. I feel like we got tabards because there’s only one tabard with many recolors, some belts, and some shoulders because that’s all they had time to make for them. I honestly think evokers should have been their own armor type so both forms could wear armor from the world, maybe called Draconic or something. But, that wasn’t up to me.

Yeah oops, that was a really bad one!

Feral/bear druid fits a little better. The point of those specs is to become their respective animals and engage in combat with animal-specific abilities. I just see evokers compared to DHs a lot so it was on my mind first!

This is definitely gatekeepy behavior (please don’t come at me for this I’m soft) but I hope they don’t make Dracthyr form toggleable just to satisfy people that don’t like anthro dragons. You’re not going to be happy playing a class if you don’t like the other 50% of it which is the identity and visuals! Especially when having that Dracthyr form is crucial because it’s the point of the race and logic-breaking otherwise. Dracthyr/dragons choose a visage form to fit in with the human races outside of battle 🫶
