Evoker tips!

Hey all, I wanted to make this post to share some niche, not so commonly known tips you could use to improve in many facets of the game. These are some evoker tips I’ve learned. This is aimed mostly at M+ but some situations can also apply to raiding.

  • If you have an ally in range, you can use rescue or verdent embrace as mobility to get yourself out of bad situations. Rescue is very good on the first boss of halls of infusion, specifically with the puddles.

  • Use rescue on slower allies to help speed them up. Such as DK’s and priests.

  • When using hover, you can prevent flinging yourself in a direction by simply not moving. This is useful in situations where you need very precise movement without moving a big distance. One great example is the dragon boss in Vortex Pinnicle.

  • Healers will LOVE you for using renewing blaze on heavy DoT damage.

  • Consider using your breath stun as an interrupt instead of big dam, except for when you have lust active on a big pull. Otherwise, stun at the start of the pull because thats when its the most dangerous.

  • Clense often. ESPECIALLY bleeds with cauterizing flame.

  • You can use Tip the Scales (as any specialization) before a key starts. The cooldown will come back when the key starts.

  • If playing augmentation and you have the Iridius Fragment trinket, use the trinket right as the key is about to start (can add potion of ultimate power as well if you’re feeling extra spicy). This will allow you to get a massive ebon might buff at the first pull. Note this is only works if you engage with the first pull within about 10 seconds of the key starting. This is great in Freehold, Underrot, Halls of Infusion, Uldaman, and Brackenhide.

How am I supposed to rescue my friends into lethal damage if I’m wasting it to save them?

Another one, though not really super useful- precast your Emerald Blossom on soak mechanics a second or so before it hits. A little heal can go a long way when its a groupwide soak, especially if it leaves ticking/dot damage on all members who soaked the mechanic- it could save a party members life.
