This class REALLY should have a melee spec. It already uses swords, axes and maces, its a dragon, everyone wants melee dragon, its got these armors for its dragon form that have giant metal claws on them, it would be awesome to have this mage/melee hybrid class, nothing else like it, and EVERYONE wants to play a melee spec on evoker. Literally everyone I speak to is desperate for it. Please consider adding a new spec to evoker… Huuuuge missed opportunity.

I don’t know that everyone wants to play a melee spec Evoker.
I’d like a tank spec so I didn’t have to upkeep 3 classes but that’s just me.
More realistically, Dracthyr ought to have access to other classes.

Wouldn’t adding a melee or tank spec go against the class’s design as a dedicated caster? It’s supposedly why they went with the lanky body design. If anything, I’d expect a second ranged DPS spec, if one’s going to be added at all.
It’s not getting one because the class was designed to be completely ranged.
I don’t, and you don’t speak for everyone. The people who keep crying about how much evoker absolutely needs a melee spec don’t want to cope with the fact that such a thing is incompatible with a class that has no melee spells whatsoever.
I tried devoker, wasn’t too impressed, but melee would solve nothing in that regard. Everyone’s talking about a melee spec or a tank spec, frankly I don’t get it. My main issue was mogs not meaning a damned thing. Visage form was vaguely okay looking but then the shoulders translated to the dragon form terribly.
It’s a friggin mess is my final analysis.
Um. This may reflect something entirely different, but anecdotally in game I just got a resounding yes in trade that people want a melee evoker mage/melee hybrid spec.
Sir I must say this now…you do not speak for all of us. I’m fine being a mobile caster. I’d however love it if the random heroic loot box from time walking would stop giving me shaman stuff

It would be funny to do an evoker charge up attack with a melee swing, it’d be like you were a boss doing a big telegraphed cleave.
I’d rather get drakonids playable. Much more satisfying to play as something that looks like it would actually hit hard.
Warlock and mages can too.
Priests and resto/balance druids can too.

agreed, i was really bummed out when i started playing Dracthyr and saw there was no melee spec, i already have a thousand caster alts so i just deleted him :\
Anyone who thinks evoker shouldn’t ever get a melee spec is delusional and doesn’t know what a dragon is. Tank or mDPS would’ve been infinitely better for the class than thematically-mismatched support.

This was not what I thought when I played an Evoker, no.
I think they’re designed probably one of the better ways. Needing a melee spec is definitely not something I feel they’re lacking.
I’m still wishing for caster tank for evoker, using small buffs to get damage attributed to you for sake of threat.

Also, what is wrong with you “purists” or whatever that get in the way of options? If they do make a melee spec then JUST DON"T USE IT if you don’t want it
