I FINALLY got the evoker lego item to drop, shortly before patch. I waited for the reset, so I could do my digs to finish off the legendary.
However, my “Memories of the Oathbinder” or whatever the quest item you use on people to teach them the recipes, is just… gone. POOF - doesn’t exist in my bags anymore.
Has this happened to anyone else? I spent all this money and time on the legendary, at the end of the patch due to the horrendous drop rate - and I can’t even get the final piece crafted at the moment.
I cannot imagine Blizzard would not make it obtainable any longer - that would be insane.

I am in the same situation. I just got my last drops tonight but my memories of an artifact is gone. Adibags shows a red ? where it should be, the default UI shows nothing.

I did talk with a friend who said a friend of his obtained his today so that’s good.
I am going to wait for a ticket response.

Yeah I’m in the same boat, I got everything together today and played for hours only to see that ancient memories is just gone or bugged out.

same tho i got the quest 2 days before patch and today i’ve been able to farm the items for it and still have the quest but yeah my item is like that as well, 4/5 day wait on a ticket about it tho 
hopefully they fix it i just needed the raid drops and dracothyst than i could make it!

Youre not alone, got mine last night and exact same thing is happening to me. Seems like a 10.2 bug

I got the standard reply within 3 hours of my ticket about them shooting it off to testing and bug squashing and that they had gotten a few others complaining about the same bug, hopefully either this hourly maintenance fixes it or within the week, judging by the new gear it might be that i get a better weapon before i get the legendary before the raid comes out!

Ya when I got my GM I even tried asking him if he could just manually apply thebuff to me, but no luck they refused to do it

I’m having the exact same problem, I made a ticket about it and all it told me was that there were already a lot of reports in for the same reason.
So… my bags were bugged yesterday and I didn’t know why, but when I logged in today I realized that it may have been my legendary quest item(Ancient Memories) messing up my bags. I have 1 item that is a ‘?’ icon in my bag and when I tried to throw it out it claims it’s the legendary quest item… so it’s still there… but it’s clearly messed up.
Hope we get answers soon.
If it’s not fixed after the next rest ima open another ticket and see if a second one works
Absolutely open tickets, that’s unacceptable, especially for an item that takes so long to get.
That’s why Blizzard should give us these items instead of auto-giving us a quest.
ive gained almost all the items needed to make it but the ones the raid bosses drop but until they fix the item so that i can use it on other people so they can make the items i need i cant progress, hope its fixed before the raid drops next week!
Ok I got my Legendary! Based on comments on wowhead and forums, here is what I did.
My alt account toon was my blacksmith.
- I invited them to party
- I flew them to Nozdormu
- I made a macro on my toon “/use [@mouseover] Ancient Memories”
- I dropped the quest “it takes a villiage…”
- I picked it up again
- Mouse over my alt, click macro
Boom! He learned the recipe and I was able to craft my last piece and finish the questline.
I had the same issue as you did. Here’s how i fixed it:
- delete the item from your bags.
- Use blizzards reclaim item service to get it back.
- Abandon the quest.
- Get the item and quest back from Nozdormu from the seat of the aspects.
- I had to try applying the buff TO MYSELF like 3 times before it took. I was 100%unable to give to someone that was in my party.
Had the same issues since Tuesday… Finally figured a work around.
1)delete Ancient Memories from bags.
2)Item restore the item through support.(Leave in mailbox)
3)Delete Quest
4)Pick up quest again from Nozdormu and he will give a new memories.
5)Applying the buff to myself wasnt working so i made a mouse over macro
/use [@mouseover] Ancient Memories.
6)Did the mouse over macro on myself and it applied it.
Note - I didnt try using the item on anyone else other than myself, but atleast it worked.
I followed what you did and got an uncorrupted/normal ancient memories but it didnt work on either myself when i swapped skinning to engi or BS or on an engi that i grouped up with, button pressing, mouseover macro,normal macro none worked, gonna open another ticket about this. hope it all worked out for you guys!

It seems 10.2 has caused a lot of issues with the questline but according to the global emote people are somehow still making it
using the delete/restore deleted item thing combined with abandoning and regaining the quest and using the restored one rather than the new ancient memories I was able to teach myself the required recipes but couldn’t use ancient memories on others
