With the up coming changes to the General Tree for evokers due to new playable classes I have a suggestion for a new Capstone talent that would take the spot of Terror of the Skies and move that side up a spot.
Dragon Flight (10min CD effected by haste)
Launch into the sky and become untargetable for 3 seconds and bombard the target area with powerful magic. Once 3 bombardments have been cast or 3 seconds have passed the Evoker returns to where they first launched from.
My idea is to take Alexstrasza’s Heros of the Storm Cleansing Flame talent and apply that to evokers. An issue with the talent would be how it functions in small spaces thus I believe it could function just like the HoS talent where the character model vanish off the screen and leaves a screen with an area of effect target reticle. This is why the evoker would need to be untargetable as the spell would only show and animation of them flying up but the player character itself would be invisible/invulnerable back at the start location thus removing any camera issues.
Each specialization would have their own unique bombardment effect.
Devastation: Ruby Blast: Fire a condensed ball of Red magic to burn the target location dealing X fire damage upon impact and leaving an area off effect fire pool on the 3rd cast that places a Fire Damage of time effect on enemies for X seconds. (AoE capped)
Preservation: Emerald Blast: Fire a concentration of Green magic at a target location healing friendly targets for X healing upon impact and leaving an area off effect healing pool on the 3rd cast that places a Healing over time effect on friendlies for X seconds. (AoE Capped to 5)
Augmentation: Obsidian Blast: Fire a Molten ball of Black magic at a target location dealing X volcanic damage upon impact and leaving an area off effect pool on the 3rd cast that lowers enemy attack speed/slows and increases the armor of friendlies for X seconds. (AoE Capped to 5)
Most classes have some form of powerful attack or healing ability as a general tree capstone that changes their game play. All in all I feel this spell should be a very nice cap stone spell for the General Tree; but should not be made so overpowered that it would be a requirement in all builds. That’s my 2 cents at least.
