Right now Evokers are the only class/race that are not able to see their gear (besides shoulders and belt) in the character selection screen. If you were to get a gear upgrade, let’s say tier chest or legs, you will not be able to see your characters progress at first glance when one first logs in. Please allow for gear to be shown on Evoker or at least allow visage to be shown instead of the dragon form, considering that ‘technically’ visage is a new race with unique customization options of its own unlike the Worgen human form which is borrowed from humans. Both sides of players who either choose to stay in dragon form or opt to stay in visage (mostly) should be able to see their preferred form at login with their gear showing like every single race in the game . It’s just really boring to login and see the generic NPC armor on my character that never changes. No gear progression display, and no transmog creativity… just another Dracthyr NPC with different shoulders and belt.
Yeah umm I’d rather they take actual gameplay stuff considering 99% of the population instantly loads the character and doesn’t care what it looks like in login.
What’s your source on that percentage? It’s been a common request since DF launched.
They could probably do the gameplay stuff and still implement it easily considering it already exists when viewing Trading Post.
Oops, wrong answer for this thread… Thought it was a different question haha.
My answer is absolutely not reliable or scientific it was a small poll of the prime I could ask at the time, none of whom said they take a second look at their character.
Certainly nothing to go by, but I’d be pretty confident that most players care more about what’s happening in the game vs the loading screen.
I agree it shouldn’t be hard to do but also there are more important things for them to spend time on lol.
There is a huge amount of players that care about how thier charaters look; if they didn’t Transmog wouldn’t be as popular as it is.
They may not care when actually doing dungesons and raids, but i can guarantee you that a significant portion of the playerbase (probably even a strong majority, though that is pure speculation) care about how their characters look.
While I can understand the blizz devs not wanting to go back and model every helm and shoulder item in the game’s history to fit drakthyr, it does seem pretty bad that they didn’t at least add some way to display new items (or at the very least, tier) on our dragon models.
I’m just afraid that the precedent has already been set, and I don’t see blizzard changing things now.
The reason of creating a character is to create a character as you see fit. Not be shoe-horned into basic NPC options when all other races get unique transmogs. I get that they added visage as a way to cover the fact that Dracthyr models do not match with armor textures, but at least let us stay in the form that does match with them.
Imagine if guardian druids were shown their bear form in the login screen instead of their humanoid form.
I’m one of them, I spend gold on transmog daily. There’s no reason that any part of me cares about the character select screen though, lol.
