Especially on ST. Warlock beats me with average 32k and bal druid 45k dps. Rogue also at 45k. I can’t seem to get above an average of 24k.
On multi target warlock and bal druid are managing 130k+ dps while I cannot seem to get past 80k.
It could be that I just need more practice and gear but it feels like even with Dragonrage popped and Limit Preheat’s video guide in mind I am nowhere near the DPS some other classes are pulling off right off the bat

I’m guessing you need more practice and learn the rotations along with optimizing your gear with the stats needed. I highly doubt normally an evoker would be that much lower and Blizz not buffing it since some classes are getting buff tomorrow. Also were those people you are comparing yourself to the same ilvl etc.?
Disintegrate gets a 15 percent buff tomorrow
With the caveat I’m still learning Evoker…I’m fully with ya on this one. They seem very squishy to me. I understand they’re supposed to be an elite class, but…I just can’t get my head around keeping them alive and still kicking butt, compared to all my other classes.

My Evoker is very squishy so i have to waste time from DPS to heal myself. Then my DPS seems incapable of staying above 21k when Dragonrage is on CD, meanwhile any other class on Single target especially does almost double my dmg?

Right?! My fav’s have always been shammys…mail, spells, melee and self heals.
Evokers are kinda the antithesis of shammys, in my experience. I’m probably playing them wrong, but…I just don’t dig 'em. Especially the charged spells. Some of the best procs trigger when you short-sheet the charged spells. That seems counter-intuitive to me.
Try playing Fire Mage if you want low dps.
Imo ifbyou love the class or spec just play it. Get gear get better at rotation and just have fun.
Eventually you see a few in higher end content like high keys so it shouldnt be too much of a discouragement

I will try to continue playing devastation but will also learn preserv then maybe i can heal raids instead of dps and keep dps for m+ on occasion cause i don’t want to be struggling so much in the dps spectrum

Have you read any guides? There is a lot more finesse then I initially thought.
I’ve been following the wowhead guide by Preheat Limit. Perhaps the video i watched was outdated though. With practice i should be able to do much better but im afraid ill still be quite behind the others
