Why is it that when you’re strafing and you double jump it forces your character to instantly change directions and fly straight at camera POV instead of gliding in the direction you’re holding down and already traveling?
As someone who instinctively hits spacebar a LOT while running this is arguably the most annoying thing I’ve ever seen lol
They don’t want you to use it as a poweful escape mechanism. If it didn’t work this way, you could double jump backwards while still looking at your target.

You can have limits obviously… like only being able to travel in a forward direction but it should be based on the way your CHARACTER is facing which would solve that problem.
It’s just really annoying when you’ve habitually hit the spacebar for 15+ years while strafing to somehow remove that engrained muscle memory when there’s really no point it needs to work that way imo.
Just feels odd idk
If you make your character run in the direction you want, then rotate camera and lock it with left click, you can do what you want to do.
That’s not how it behaves, no matter what it’s always jumping “forward” if you’re using strafe.
If you use hover, you can do what you want to do. In the end it would be op no matter what.
