Everything wrong with BfA in one player quote

Do you understand simple economics? Supply and demand. When the supply is low, and demand goes up, the value of the supply goes up. When the supply has a surplus that exceeds demand (ie: scrapping), the value of the supply plummets. How are you missing this? Go ahead post something in the AH for the 10x the market value and see how it sells. Just because you think its good for you. Good Luck.

Also, btag me. Let me know when you sell stock, ill buy it from you seeing as you are likely to sell low based on your application of economics.

My issue with “casual” players getting Mythic Raid gear equivalent is actually not from the Mythic Raiders perspective, as a Mythic Raider myself it’s extremely convenient that high item level loot rains from the sky, it allows me to keep alts relevant and makes me able to bring them to challenging content (since they are usually only like 5 to 7 item levels lower than my main with minimum effort).

The reason why I think all the free high item level gear is bad for the game is because it hurts the “casual” player not the “Mythic Raider”, and I know this sounds counter-intuitive at first, but think about it…

What is the content that is designed for casual players to enjoy??. Well I was a very casual player for a long time, and I enjoyed a lot running my heroics during Cata/Mop and my LFRs (as much as some players talk badly about LFR it used to be very fun for me)… Right now, those bits of content have been rendered totally irrelevant, but it’s not because the design of those changed, it’s because even casual players have Heroic / Mythic raid gear equivalent now so there’s no point in doing those (and even if you do them there’s no challenge when you outscale them by over 30 item levels).

A casual player gets to Heroic Raid level and then what?? Your item level would indicate you should do +10 keys or Heroic raiding but that’s no casual player content… And you are not going to do M0 since they are faceroll at that item level (they are actually cata-heroic level or harder at the appropriate item level though), you also get nothing form LFR…

I am not bashing any player, nor am I denying that I have also taken advantage of the system. I am bashing the system for what it is. Plain and simple. It’s a crap system, but it’s the only one we have. No - people wouldn’t turn off titanforging, but that doesn’t mean titanforging is good. It is the system we have, and it’s a bad system.

I think titanforging is a great system. Does that mean we cancel each other out ?

No, it’s a forum. I state an opinion, you state an opinion, we debate those opinions. That’s how this works.

Not true but nice try.

No one quits the game because they get good gear. NO ONE!!

The RNG
no flying
rep grinds
etc etc and so on are the real reasons people quit the game.

But did your stomach literally turn?

They would if they thought that would cost them less to make and earn them more income.

So much envy, wether you like it or not the players that complete the highest level of content should be the ones obtaining the highest levels of rewards, it’s just logic.

Actually you are wrong, people do quit once they obtain highest gear possible. Which you can get doing 5 mans, so everyone has it. There is nothing left for them to do after that. You think gear isnt the reason PvErs do things? Look at the alliance ilvl 400 WM fiasco. People transferred to alliance just for it.

They get the top gear, stop playing or switch to alt that they then get top gear on in a couple of weeks then stop playing. RNG does suck, no flying is a good thing actually, it encourages WPvP, rep grinds being time gated is bad. Class design is bad, gearing is awful. Got top gear, time to go play Apex or Fortnite.

Lol! That is hardly “everything” that is wrong with BFA

I disagree, I do more to acquire gear. How long do you think it would take to get ilvl over 415 by doing mytic plus or any other way besides mythic raiding? you get 1 pc of gear with 410 ilvl from your weekly that is completely rng. I would estimate it would take about 4 months with some forging going around to do that. Mythic raiders are already getting to that level. The 400 ilvl was to obtain gear to do a worlds first race by limit otherwise it did not matter.

i suppose record number low subs doesnt substantiate your claims. You get RNG pieces out of cache. It used to be you got RNG pieces from a boss once a week that shared between 40-25 people. You would go weeks without getting a piece. Then so would half your raid. Now you complain that you get a piece and its not the right piece everytime. On top of the gear you get in the M+, on top the gear you get in a raid. Yeah I wonder why people left, can you even name a piece of gear thats not OP, like maledict or safegaurd, that you really want? Most people cant, because its handed out like candy and at a pediatricians office.

I suppose you think he should just dust them all on moral principle

Nope, it is just an opinion. To be a fact you would need to show some source for your facts.

In years past, you had time consuming and demanding gameplay that lent a feeling of accomplishment to the player, but in place of that, in BFA, you have shallow rewards, yielded by the path of least resistance, coupled with unrewarding gameplay-- which in turn, turns aspects of the game into a chore that people just want to bypass.

Don’t let them get you down. You are not alone on this position.

Blame gear score. In game chat and forums used to be filled with talk of gear score. It was the way one person, or many could feel superior over others. I’m sure this flood of gear we now can get is partly a response to the mind numbing grieving that used to happen based on it.

Now that anyone can get a decent item level, you have to judge a player by skill, as requested by players.

I actually agree with you. However, what’s the current ilvl in mythic dungeons??

If it’s the same as last patches mythic raid ilvl, I don’t see the problem. If it’s equal to the current tier of mythic raiding, then yeah I see the problem.

I never quite understood why “mythic raiders” who log on a few times each week to raid and log off again afterward and probably have a neck in the mid-30’s have this huge sense of entitlement vs someone with a mid 40’s neck who does difficult M+ dungeons everyday. Get over yourself, you’re not that special.
