I read “Reach Renown Rank 4 to continue the campaign…” Didn’t Blizzard make a big deal about how Dragonflight, a lot of players didn’t get those ranks up so they didn’t see the story, so they decided addtional story wouldn’t be locked behind renown? What happened???

Weird, I was renown 4 with all the factions when I completed the campaign and renown 6 with the last zone.

I did skip some quests, but my point is that I should be able to skip quests, get to 80, and do the max level campaign based off Blizzard themselves saying they weren’t gonna lock it behind renown anymore back in Dragonflight.
Right now there is no max level campaign.
It’s not part of early access.
So youre not missing out yet XD

Blizzard say a lot of things.
But that’s besides the point. The fact that I need to level up renown is what I’m complaining about. Blizz said back in DF they were stepping away from this system.

I get what you mean but if renown 4 is all you need it is basically a freebie.

It won’t stop at Renown 4 at this rate though. The system is in place. You’re gonna need to get it up every week for more max level campaign. It’s not a freebie.

You get the renown from the campaign itself tho. It’s not like df where it was locked behind multiple renown levels that you couldn’t get till well past the campaign
It wasnt that way on beta so we dont know that it is the case.
We’ll have to wait and see on that one.
Do a few side quests you’ll get the renown in no time.
If the campaign is anything like dragonflight, I’d prefer skip it.

Doing just the Campaign got me to Renown 3 for The Deep, I had to do side content to finish to Renown 4. Which, again, means that we’re gonna have to do World Quests and Weeklies for more Renown just to do the Max Level campaign as this goes on. Something that Blizzard said they were stepping away from in DF because a lot of people didn’t get their renown up to see Malfurion come back from the Shadowlands.

Hm, I guess the rares I killed along the way and treasure boxes a grabbed gave me the rep for 4 then, cuz I finished with level 4 in the first 3 zones and level 6 in the last zone
I literally only did the campaign and 3 delves in total until I finished (early level 77, if curious) and I was already renown 4 or 5 with everyone, so I have to question how people are finishing without getting there
Not that it matters since the level 80 campaign is time gated anyway
Oh man. It’s fun watching new people to mmos crying about “renown” etc. I swear, these people should stick to single player console games. The best whiners are the ones who cry about “grinds” in this expansion and the past few" and claim to have played since Vanilla, BC or Wrath. Because if they actually played in any of those, they would know any grinds in WoW today and in the past bit of expansions would see the grind is nothing like it was.
MMOs NEED stuff like this. It is impossible for mmos to pump out content in an insane pace.

I was Renown 4 with everyone except Assembly of the Deeps, which was at Renown 3. I only did the main campaign, with the intent of doing side quests on other characters since it’s all warbound anyway.
They could literally just timegate it like they have plenty of times in the past. I’m not against grinding for things. I did reputation grinds for all the Allied Races when I pre-ordered BFA, I’ve rep grinded for things I’ve wanted. Locking the Main Story behind a rep grind is not the right move though. Again, Blizzard themselves admitted this in Dragonflight and after a while decided to no longer have the Main Story locked behind a Renown level.
