Everything reset! Everything

Just logged in to prepare for raid and EVERYTHING is reset. As if I just installed the game.
Login info, Sound/video options, interface options, every addons options/profiles. Just the weakauras alone took hours and hours of tuning. ALL GONE! I did nothing. This computer is dedicated to WOW.
Am I really supposed to redo everything there is no way and now my im screwing my guild over for raid. IT would be stupid of me to bite the bullet and redo everything, because the same might just happen again! Why is it games on Nintendo 64 could save progress, but one of the biggest games in history cant. Hours of time lost.
It was already terrible that keybinds and macros would be lost if you got disconnected only to find out at a really inconvenient time.
WELL THIS IS EVERYTHING. At a very inconvenient time. Bartender settings-GONE, Weakauras-Gone, Every MACRO GONE, OMnibar GONE, Default UI RESET.
Is there a solution or do I need to quit because it will just happen again?

Well no one will be able to restore your settings unfortunately can it happen again theres no gaurentee either way this maybe a sideeffect of the server issues that happened last nite.

First thing I’d do is log back out. Out of the game and out of the launcher. Then log back into the launcher again. Check to make sure you’re logging into the right account (the boxes above the Play button) and then log back in.

We’ve seen some instances where the launcher defaults to the wrong account (not defaulting back to the one you played last).

If the settings really are gone, then yes, you’d have to set them back up if that’s what you want to do. Keep in mind, Blizzard doesn’t support addons directly.

Macros are stored server side though and really shouldn’t disappear.

So try logging out and back in again and see if they show back up.

Indeed.

The more one uses addons, especially if it’s the more complex ones, the more it’s a good idea to periodically back up the Interface, Cache and WTF folders. That can soften the blow if there ever is a loss of that data.

Not sure if this is still the case, but I believe name changes or server transfers can also mess up addon settings.

Thank you guys for the advice… My macro’s were saved so I was thankfully wrong about that.
I will have to look into and how to periodically backup saved options.

If you haven’t logged in and out too much, it may be possible to recover from .bak files in the wtf folders.
