EVERYTHING in my bag on one of my toons is gone after hiatus

Hi there,
I am posting here because the customer support people told me to and since they want to play pass the buck, guess what? Tag you’re it.

ALL THE GEAR ON MY WARRIOR THAT WAS IN MY BAGS IS GONE!

I’ll explain.
So about a year and a half ago, life decided to take a baseball bat to my world. So shortly thereafter I was forced to take a bit of a break from wow. All in all about a year.
However, my subscription NEVER lapsed. I paid for wow the entire time I was away.
So upon my return, I was super happy to see that blizz gave everyone catch up gears and had them ready to be started again with the new content and whatnot.
All except my warrior.
Now this warrior, I’ve been playing on this toon so long, if it was a real person, it would no longer be a minor.
It is the very first ever toon I began my wow journey on all those many years ago to prove my point to my gf that this was a stupid game and a waste of time.
Over 18 years later, I still play daily and she hasn’t been on in years.
But back to my point.
So before I had to step away from wow for awhile. I had made that warrior my bank toon, as warband stuff was not yet out on live servers.
As I’m sure you can imagine, I had in 18 years, amassed a fairly substantial collection of rare wow items, gear, weapons, etc. etc. etc.
So as I began to log onto my toons and wake them from their year long naps… It was so handy that you all had taken everything out my bags and mailed it all to me to go collect at the mailbox at my convenience. I assume you did this because as part of the little package upgrade thingy you gave me new bags. Neat! All of my toons still had most of their items in the bank and what wasnt there, was in the mailbox awaiting retrieval.
ALL EXCEPT MY ORIGINAL WARRIOR!
The one, single, most important "don’t let this crap get deleted toon I have, and what do yall go and do??? You deleted all my crap.
EVEN THOUGH, REMEMBER, MY SUBSCRIPTION NEVER LAPSED!!!
And now…
Now the customer service people there want to tell me there’s nothing I can do and they can’t restore my stuff at all to me. But if I would please post about it on the forums just so a developer “might” actually see the post, “might” actually read it, and “might” by some miracle decide to fix this situation.
I had to reopen my ticket they keep marking as resolved because it’s NOT RESOLVED. Even if a dev sees and reads my post, you aren’t going to fix the issue for me as an individual. Yeah you might put in a fix for others so this doesnt happen to anyone else, but for me I’m screwed out of my really cool irreplacable stuff that I had been paying on the entire time.

So there you have it. I’m not holding my breath and I swear to god if one more of you says to wait another 48 hours because it “might” show up…

Check your mailbox…

Did you use the “welcome back” thing on the warrior and then not pick up the mail from the warrior for 30 days?

If you chose to gear update your character and then did not log in for 30 or so days the email with the old items would be gone since the gear update puts everything you had in bags that it mails you.

What a stupid feature.

I don’t tend to use the feature so I’m not sure if there is anyway to restore things hopefully someone else knows more about it.

As others have stated, if you used the gear update feature and then didn’t log in for more than 30 days then yes all your stuff is gone forever. Not even blizzard can get it back for you sorry to say.
