Everything account wide

What would really make the game better is if they had pretty much everything account wide. Think how amazing it would be if right now in shadowlands you made an alt and the moment you reached 60 you had renown 80 and your entire covenant sanctum was built, given you did that on your main character. Also every reputation to include the Maw and Korthia was exalted and the full covenant campaign quest line was already finish.

This is how it should be if they want to make the game better in the future. There should not be “catch up” mechanics and instead you are literally “caught up” and the only thing you have to do with your alt is get gear for it.

Think of how many people would be motivated to try new characters if they didn’t have to go through the billion different systems and grinds over and over again just for an alt. This is how you make the game fun and have more people play it.

And so ppl with 50 characters would out rep grind anyone with less.

Until theres a weekly cap rep, wont happen.

Im not saying its a bad thought just probably not possible in the current environment.

Also it should be an optable feature so those who want unique character progression can have it

Major systems like cov sanctums wont ever have it. Travel network oribos port shoulda been level 1 tho and r2/3 shoukda been the zone stuff

I agree, I think the most urgent ones are currency and reputation.

You still have to maintain those 50 alts and quest on them.

This is potentially infinite content for everyone.

If the hardcore competitive want to burn themselves out, I say let them.

I mean it depends on what you engage with. I dont have reps maxxed on my main let alone any alt and both characters are 250 ilvl ish. Account wide reps and sanctums wouldnt change anything for a player like me. Account wide ksm and valor, now your talking

Most of the crap in SLs you dont need to engage with unless you want anima/mog? Torg currencies can be mailed cross account and leggo recipes wouldnt be account wide.

Professions perhaps, but you get the perks at lvl 1 of the prof for flasks just cant make em

Yea, gearing is the only point where you should have to run all your alts with the exception of unlocking the valor upgrades for your alts.

I’d go as far as unlocking the upgrades on your conquest alts. Farm once to 2400, you are elite, I don’t care if you gear all your 50 alts in elite gear, imho you deserve it.

You would still need to get all the base gear and the currency to upgrade the gear on your alts.

Add raid skips to account wide as well

As long as you do the unlock once you should never have to do it again.

And this company wonders why Final Fantasy 14 is kicking it’s butt so bad.

So true! Shouldn’t have to keep doing everything over and over

You really should give Asmongold his proper citation… he posted this exact argument yesterday lol

Not only that, but people barely have time to help each other these days. I want time to help friends and guildies.

If they just made all rep account-wide, that would be amazing.

And made currency too.

It would be easier to manage than this:

I clicked on this thread expecting a dozen responses about critics saying “you just want multiple mains!”

I am pleasantly surprised. Also, I agree with OP, make everything account-wide.

I honestly don’t care about account-wide weekly rep caps, but if it’s a big deal, sure why not? I have no care either way, but I can see how certain things (especially with new content) might lend itself to requiring that.

I would say,if they did do a totally account achievement then there wouldn’t be people playing in all levels of the game ,they’ll just race to endgame, the world would be so empty.

You can’t say that with certainty. Nor could I with a world being filled with alts. But what I can say is long as Blizzard doesn’t make it a burden to level it should be fine. The reason classic is such a ghost town is because leveling takes too long and is annoying. So far the leveling I have been doing has been pretty enjoyable. And I can’t see a reason for what you say to come to pass in retail at least.

I just cannot fathom why would someonw willingly cripple the amount of fun they could have by backing restrictions. Again take FF14 on one character it handles the unlocks just fine. You get bored of one job you swap to another at no cost to the player. It’s a wonder Wow hasn’t done what Wow does best and steal the idea and act like it’s theirs.

I really don’t like the account wide system. I wish reputations were still tied to character and I wish mounts were too. It made people “main” something instead of constantly rerolling.

Catch up mechanics are not just for alts but for new or returning players too. For alts, most of the stuff you can skip or buy an item that upgrades your covenant level to 40 + conduits to 200. I agree there could be better ways to do this but you have to respect player’s choices and if people want to do it again they should be able to and not forced to.

I was referring to skipping leveling ,if the achievement were account wide not the leveling itself. If you’re a new player level allows you have achievements while a alt. has the same achievements but not have all of them as it’s main .If they did they wouldn’t do them because they don’t have to,so boost skip is the way to by pass it.

Kind of removes the point of having caps like they do then, doesn’t it?

Piddy here has, I think, over 12,000 badges. Some silly number.

It’s almost as if they don’t want someone to farm up 25,000 badges in a TW week across 50 toons.

People can already do this with level boosts and it hasn’t made it better. Leveling is leveling. But to say the world would empty because you don’t have to farm some arbitrary system on every single character is disingenuous. You know that and so do I.

I haven’t even done it yet and I feel the pain. Imagine when I get there on my second character and quit the game because of it. Because as a leveling player hearing all this hate towards endgame systems and watching videos on how they work it’s stupid. I’m just helping my buddy with his boredom at this point because when I do get there it’s going to drive me back to better games.
