Yeah that’s pretty silly. They should add a giant popup upon rolling on one explaining how PvP servers work and what can happen while playing on one. And then hand out timeouts for spamming the forum with complaints about things working as intended.
People say this, but if you ever get to experience the smaller, tight-knit communities on the lower end of faction imbalanced servers, and the abundance of wpvp (if that’s genuinely something you enjoy), I think it would be difficult to deny how great it is.
But yeah… people who genuinely want PvP on PvP servers do seem to be a minority, and I say that’s fine. Cata Classic has some pretty great wpvp on the 1% side of 99% servers.
In Era all of Era is one big batlegroup, so if no BGs are popping on PvE servers, none should be on the PvP servers either.
I think this is changing, but for all of Classic launch the Streamer-driven consensus was that PvP servers were the only real servers for real WoW players.
As a new undead prot warrior - I was ganked 50 plus times in stranglethorn vale trying to get troll ears for my axe quest . ( you couldn’t charge in combat back then OR as protection . No spell reflect - I was basically a target dummy with feelings . TLDR - I did not enjoy it .
I think PVP encounters out in the world can be fun. The way I do it is I never bother anyone. I’m the kind of player who will just walk by the opposing faction and wave. I know this aggravates some people, as they don’t believe that’s how PVP servers should work. But to me, a PVP server just means you have the ability to fight. It doesn’t mean it’s mandated.
So when I get attacked, I think it’s fun to kill my attacker. Which means they got the draw on me and I won.

But I truly wouldn’t mind being on a PVE server. My only problem is that it’s so barren when it comes to battlegrounds. People don’t want to do them for some reason. Whereas PVP servers are full of groups doing them.
Because of this kind of PVE servers are not an option for me. I only play for the battlegrounds for the most part.
… but aren’t all servers one Battlegroup for BGs? I do not understand why you need to do BGs with people from your own server. Queue time is the same from all servers.
I’m just talking about forming groups. For instance on a PVE server, you likely wouldn’t have enough people to form a five-man group to do AV premades on the discord. Or if you wanted to run a premade wsg/ab, it wouldn’t really be an option to just form one on the spot. You would have to schedule one with a guild or something.
Because on PVE servers there is very little interest in BGs for whatever reason.
Hardcore baby!
i wont. I don’t like pvp.
this is my big concern too
Hahahaha… catch breath hahahahaha…
No, this wont be the case. You know it, I know it. This is an attempt to get more people to roll PvP who really dont want to so that you can troll/camp them. No thank you. I had my fill of 60 vs 20 “PvP” somewhere around 2006; not interested in doing that again.
I’ll be on PvE realm this time around and going horde. I’m burn out on pvp and constantly rolling alliance in classic era.
PvP servers will be popular at first due to streamers bringing their mindless drone armies over. Then, when the streamers stop showing up for a variety of reasons, their guilds will languish and merge. Eventually, they’ll get bored and those servers will become wastelands of manchildren begging for fresh all over again.
If you actually just want to run the content, roll on a PvE server. Yes, the hype will die down too, but you aren’t going to waste your time being ganked by honor farmers.
Moving to another zone is an hour long journey. Pve is best.
I look forward to slaying all of you
Faction balance is auto enforced.
It won’t be like last time. It’s literally impossible.
Horde and alliance will be balanced and there is only 1 server. People can’t leave to a different server.
Has blizz ever held themselves to these balance rules?
let me laugh at that…
It’s literally forced by the server like SoD.
Sorry about that. I’ll be less mean this time.
