Everyone should have a path to progress to max ilvl gear, EVERYONE!

The issue is the developers seem to cater to their every whim.

Not really, no. I know more people coming back to the game who left in BfA because gear was irrelevant than I do people leaving the game because the handouts are going away.

Guess I only associate with other filthy tryhard raiders.

The game you and Mr. Insecure want is a game I wouldn’t play so if that’s what WoW becomes … an “everyone gets everything regardless of the content you do” then I don’t care if it dies. I’ll move on to something else.

You are absolutely right. This is an issue that plagues all of bfa. Maybe legion (i cant even remember the last time i logged into a bg). Thats why, WAY ABOVE, i advocate for a base level of mythic 7. Not Mythic raid level. But enough to give every single player (regardless of time and commitment) an avenue into the basic ACTUAL end game.

I wonder what type of delusion you need to create to think things like this is true.

Gear matters more than its ever mattered in the history of WoW. It’s why PvPers are mad, and why they all mythic raid or buy carries.

Watching you type “delusion” is as nauseating as watching you use the word “insecure.”

This is what Blizzard was trying to do in Legion/BFA but gave up in 8.3 for some reason and completely abandoned the idea in Slands. So now Slands base level for everyone is below normal raid. Gotta make everyone a raider! Raid or die!

They’ll leave. Have you seen every single expansions population graph. Its clockwork. What does this one do differently (and i know im asking you to be really positive about this expansion so you can win the point, and this might break you out in hives, but i really want you to try).

Gear matters however if all you do is mog runs and open world then your end game gear is wq gear. If you PVP yeah it currently sucks and there are better ways to do it but thats a different monster to tackle. If you raid well there is a progression system to that and if a new player refuses to do it well there is nothing that can be done. Its as the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.

I mean I would read it, but I already understand the principle of, harder content should contain the best rewards.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why participation trophies are a bad idea.

This is a flat out lie. Pvp gear will still give a chest, heroic dungeons will still exist as a stepping stone. The only thing that is a major change from BFA to Shadowlands is the wq gear which I think is a improvement. WQ gear does not need to go as high as it did in BFA.

I have no problem being positive about Shadowlands. I’m looking forward to the story, I enjoy (for the most part) the changes to the classes I play, and with effort=reward, maybe pugging won’t be a total nightmare with people not having inflated ilvls getting accepted to runs when they just want to button smash and can’t be bothered learning a fight or how to play their class/spec.

The mogs look great, Covenant abilities remind me of Legion artifact abilities (which I loved), hopefully I get to kill Sylvanas personally at some point … all good by me.

I enjoy the game for what it is: an MMORPG with varying levels of content to challenge the player and yet still have content for whatever you want to do with the game. I was a casual player until WoD, wanted more challenge so I went heroic raider in Legion and moved on to Mythic raiding in BfA.

I LOVE raiding. I raid on all my toons. BfA made pugging nigh-on impossible. Legion I was doing full heroic runs on all my toons. BfA with the surplus of inflated ilvls left you lucky to get the first 3 bosses down in 5 hours. Raider IO had to become “a thing” on a level it wasn’t present in Legion because of casual players who took that high ilvl gear and didn’t stay in casual content and approached harder content with a casual mindset. Is that a crime? No. Doesn’t mean I’m hopeful that those days will be gone and I’ll be back to getting full runs done.

This isn’t a competition. There are no “trophies.” It’s a video game. If someone else has the best gear and just wants to run around collecting pets, it affects no one else.

The only reason people want to deny anything to another person is because they enjoy denying things to other people. Which is weird.

Yeah, WOTLK and TBC were really bad expansions that no one liked.

FFXIV is a really bad game that isn’t more well liked, praised, or doing better than BFA.

As the person above me said, PvE isn’t a competition, stop trying to make it one to cater to your extreme insecurities.

Profile - > mythic raider. Never fails. Ever.

That’s not the argument going on though. People like the op want mythic equivalent gear to come from anything. Did a wq? Well here is your mythic gear. Did a pet battle? More gear. People don’t care if others get it its the method of acquisition that matters.

Right. Now try and explain why the game is atrophying and has been since cata (and has really fallen off a cliff in bfa)? Now try and explain why the devs put so much time into revamping the new player experience? (i wonder if theyre related?) Now imagine this is your bank balance, and ask yourself, should we keep continuing on this path? Now ask yourself… what should we do to change if this hail mary doesnt work?

insecure mythic raiders who need to make themselves feel better by outgearing, or by being able to sell carries so they can stay alive financially IRL since they DESPERATELY rely on carry gold to do so. This is why they aggressively defend having better gear than everyone.

I think they should add up to Mythic +7 to the looking for dungeon option now.
I can’t see how it could hurt anything but might get more into Mythic + Yes I slouched off but at least I did Mythics up to +10. Right now I think the raid or get left behind mindset is not a good direction for the company but we will need to wait and see.

Raiding for the best gear is bragging rights when you have it and it shows you are committed to doing that content. I don’t care if world quest gear is 40 points behind raid gear those people earned it. But just handing the same level over for just playing?

Yeah, that is a huge NOPE from me.

So What? What if someone got something from a different source?

Is the content that you do so bad that you wouldn’t do it if gear was obtainable somewhere else?

That’s not a problem with people getting gear. That’s a problem with the content.

Then they have less people to sell carries to, and can’t live off gold selling for their IRL income. Their entire life collapses.
