Everyone enjoying world of mage craft?
I don’t think it has ever not been World of Magecraft, come to think of it. Mage has always been at least an A tier pick.
It sucked being a mage before MoP TBH. Sucked in a good way.
I’ll never forgive Blizzard for thinking it was a good idea to make Avenging Wrath Spellstealable.
there was nothing wrong with that. it’s not like it was unique or special. it could be dispelled too couldn’t it? back then almost all magical buffs were equal.
It wasn’t fun gameplay, that was the issue. Activating one of your class’ strongest abilities made your opposing team stronger? Lol?
it was plenty of fun. sorry we wont agree with that. risk vs reward is ideal to me.
Not like that, though. Recklessness was a good example of risk vs reward. Avenging Wrath was not.
There was no reward to be gained from casting Avenging Wrath if it just got Spellstolen on the Mage’s next global. Whereas with Recklessness, the Warrior got to absolutely have a chance of reaping that reward.
They’d have to get through other buffs, as you’d usually be awash with magic - remember blessings were magic at this point too so they’d steal them before hand usually. I used to love trucking into a mage who didn’t clean me before hand while they sat there casting spell steal like a mongo idiot and I blew them up with Seal of Blood.
Avenging wrath is a great example of risk vs reward. It put you on forberance, it gave you a huge damage boost. It was a huge choice to make vs mages due to the risk of it being stolen. You had lots of dispel protection to cover it. But if they got lucky and stole it, you put your own team at risk.
it’s not like ret was useless outside of wings back then, we’re talking about the literal peak of rets strength in arena.
But i dont have nukes sir, im just a wittle arcane mage
I actually forgot that Avenging used to give rets forbearance, needs to be more drawbacks like that again.
yeah and when rogues pop vendetta they cant cloak, warrs cant use parry after using avatar etc
I’d be psyched just to see offensive CDs lock each other the way tiger’s fury partially did to berserk or deadly calm did to reck
