Everyday, BOP loot is stolen at the end of RDF runs

I see it everyday. Random dungeon - somebody at the end of the run decides to need roll all of the items and leaves immediately.

You can’t use the in-game reporting system in this instance because they’re already out of the group. If you go through the steps to report them through the website you get a precanned message about deferring to the in-game loot system, playing with people you know, or providing feedback on the forums.

I have had a ton of fun with this tool since it was implemented but this behavior should be reportable or some in game system should be in place to prevent this from occurring.

You can’t report people doing that for any reason, customer support will not deal with loot issue of that kind.

Your best bet is to wait for everyone to roll before needing and greeding, or needing everything yourself.

The answer to ninja looting shouldn’t be ninja looting in return.

Community-created problems usually result in community-created solutions.

For me and my group, it became immediately needing on Frozen Orbs as soon as they drop if there are any pugs. Intention is clear, we are needing, we do it immediately.

Why? Because dealing with somebody waiting until the end of the timer or needing after we greed is annoying. And y’know what, it seems to be catching on with the people I see again.

The community-created solution for the bop drops shouldn’t be Need rolls. It makes perfect sense for BOEs.

It just feels really bad taking a toon through RDF and watching somebody ninja loot bops that their toon cannot equip just so they can vendor it/DE it for a few extra gold.

I’ve encountered people taking BoP loot they had no uses for very rarely. BoEs happen more often.

Sucks when it happens, but reporting them serves no purpose. They technically get to do that if they want to in current game. This is why Need-Greed rules tightened up in later expansions.

There really aren’t many alternatives in the current system. :dracthyr_shrug:

It’s not against the game rules to roll on loot your character can’t equip. You can sell it, you can disenchant it. Yeah, it’s a jerk move, but the wow community is just how the wow community is.

Best you can do is be the change you want to see. You can behave in a way you want to be treated and I’m sure others appreciate that or consider it normal.

I wouldn’t be surprised if people just need on everything the whole dungeon soon enough. You can vote to kick when you see that behavior, but I’m sure people just don’t care.

The solution is to just roll need yourself and gear up from the badges you are guaranteed to receive.

I’m sorry, OP - that’s really scummy. I saw it happen two days ago myself. But I can’t deny it; when I read the title, my first thought was "is he gonna do some Sarah Maclaclan “In the Arms of an Angel” commercial thing where he says “for only 99 cents a day, you can kick these people from your groups and roll your own tank” or some such thing. It made me smile.

How do you steal something you have a right to take?

The only real solution is playing with friends, you roll the dice when you play with strangers.

i have witnessed this during TBC, one time i needed an item and left it in my bags to equip it in a later moment . the group member harassed me during the whole run. Then he found my guild leader to complain why I “needed” the item and not equipped it right away , which I actually did after my run . my point to all this is that , some individuals in our community suck like many other communities
