A unforeseen threat has emerged. We must unite against the DaRknEsS and only YoU cAn help us
Sorry but not only is this language completely unoriginal, it also feels incredibly bland with dimension. Am I supposed to believe somethingâs bad because you called it dark, and somethings fair because you called it light? Welp, here come void elves and corrupt naaru. I much preferred the idea of shadow being a force much more alike black matter that we see black holes made from in space; inherently deadly to any light that passes by the only thing faster; rather than a fantasy term for personality convenience in absence of actual storytelling.
They need to follow vanillaâs example and just make a loose storyline. Stop taking their F tier Disney stories so seriously.
Just because we got Danoozed in Shadowlands doesnât mean Vanilla was good, lol.
That covers a lot of fantasy books too
From my understanding the âlightâ isnât 100% good by any means.
In fact, the âlightâ being a bad guy is one of the major predictions for a future expac.
Not sure if this is 100% what you are talking about but ya
That chickens part has me wheezing! Pretty much accurate for WoD.
Granted they had sixty levels and forty zones to work with, but Vanilla had a lot of side stories that were set in the world affected by the main story without actually being directly connected to the main story. The lack of these side stories was my big complaint in Shadowlands.
Wait until you learn about the Heroâs Journey, OP. Youâre going to go wild.
You must not like most stories since they usually start with an unknown threat that we must band together to fight. Granted, Iâm in no way defending WoWâs storytelling, and Iâm sick of the âsomething greater is comingâ, I just think itâs a silly thing to complain about when itâs a standard story trope.
Love me some Tarriff.
Still a better story than Shadowlands.
But in all seriousness, my expectations are very low for Blizzard right now. Between the way they are handling Overwatch 2 and WoW, Iâm not hopeful for the future.
They could shake things up by adding:
- more romance (like probably most great stories in the history of literature, and also most story-driven games like visual novels or JRPGs or even games like Metal Gear Solid) and/or
- more real world politics (like video games such as Metal Gear Solid or Deus Ex or even something like Final Fantasy VII, whose main characters are part of an eco-terrorist organization)
Speaking of which, do you remember the James Bond movie where there was this super powerful, super smart, super evil psychopath who had this giant facility where he was creating this thing more powerful than any nation on Earth could create?
Remember how the only way the planet could be saved was if James Bond repelled down or crawled in somehow and blew the whole thing up? Remember that James Bond movie? Which one was it now?
Oh yeah, I remember. It was all them. That is all of the movies after the only two good James Bond movies, Dr No and From Russia With Love.
And the disease spread. Mission impossible moves? Nope, James Bond Plot. Star Trek Reboot movies? Nope James Bond Plot. Star Wars? Whoâs the villain this time? James Bond plot.
Thatâs just the way big media stories roll. Find something that works and stick with it. So what if WOW were to change? How about if they mixed it up a bit and say did an after life story instead of an Azeroth story? Wouldnât that be a nice change?
ITâS CHANGED !!! THEY ARE FORCING ME TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERNT !!!
*** OH THE HUMANITY !!! ***
Yeah everything is doom , doom this doom that
Except in this case the military didnt lead but the academy.
@op what story would you rather they do?
Not when you have nachos!
eats a nacho and smirks
I liked in legion dungeons when you touched that matter it would harm you. Kinda like the sha energy in mop
No thanks.

Who plays this game expecting a rocking story? We all play the game for the epic loot.
