Every post patch update takes considerable time to complete

Over the last couple of months these regular (and irregular) patch updates are taking what seems to me to be a ridiculously long time to complete.

At the moment I am sitting waiting for the one done in the last day to complete its installation. It started when I log on at 10.13am (local time). It is now 10.34am (local time) and it is ‘initializing’. That is 20 minutes.

I did an ISP download speed test. It is perfectly normal.
I have nothing else active (other than this website). No other applications are open, just whatever normal stuff is happening in the background.
The computer is functioning fine.

Am I the only one who has this sort of thing happening? Is it considered normal for what I can only assume is a relatively small update to complete?

EDIT: 10.45am, still going. Thats half an hour. This is stupid slow. What am I, on dialup and I didn’t notice?

When in doubt restart your PC. If that does not work quit the launcher, then pop open task manager and make sure it was ended. Any instances of battle net. Then run the launcher in admin mode and see if it kicks in faster.

I used to notice this on an old PC, but since not with my latest.
