Every Patch Cuts Playerbase In Half

Every single patch completely makes everything else in the game completely irrelevant. And when you made WoW a fulltime job on the side long enough, your progress just gets completely erased when the next patch comes anyways.

And why is every patch doubling our HP pools? Literally it’s 100 ilevel difference from geared at endgame to freshly leveled at endgame. I’m critting for more than the HP pools of the players in season 1. Gear is way too important.

You are making the PURPOSE of this game to get ilevel instead of what it should be: playing the CONTENT that you WANT to play. This is horrible game design. And absolutely makes the game worse. The reason for this complete distraction from the content the game actually has to offer is out of fear of the gameplay itself not actually being fun, engaging, and if nothing else rewarding.

Especially in comparison when you look at the reward for time investments in other live service games.

Not at all welcoming to new players, logical for returning players, nor respectful of current players who have realistic allocations of their time, effort and respect.

Someone @asmongold @bellular …some of the few community members who can be objective.

Go look at ESOs model. You can play with any of your friends no matter what levels, doing any content and still be rewarded for it. Gear is accountwide with a bank shared between your account.

I agree that the power creep is just silly. It doesn’t need to be so much. This is why we have such frequent stat nerfs.

However I don’t think that this is the reason most people quit. If anything, the memoryless property of seasons is what gets new players up to speed to play with their friends. Additionally, it allows people to change mains without being left behind.

What happens when you divide 0 by half???
We must know!

Careful.

The elitists will break out their pitchforks if they hear you saying that WQ players should have as much fun as instanced players.

The health increase was another idiotic decision from ion’s team to nerf healers. (they also increased all the damage coming from mobs, without even doing the proper math on it)
like healers needed nerfing, right?
Because their precious 0.001% m+ players were running 20+ keys with no healers in their comp (instead running all classes with top tier offhealing)

All the dogwater decisions they make is because of the 000.1%.

Now watch your above average m+ player struggling with healers.
its happening a whole lot this first week of season 2.

This complaint is coming from someone that is on average on the 1% of m+
Im a regular guy that always goes for pink IO.
the 00001% is the problem, alongside with the devs, they dont care if the rest of the playerbase is having fun.

They should.

I’m as elitist in this game as you could be. I just want everyone to want to play this game because it’s fun for them to, not because they HAVE to. And idc what your favorite thing to do in the game is, even if it’s pet battles or player housing. Wait sorry WoW still doesn’t have player housing. But you get my point.

Everyone should be playing the content that they want to. These insane ilevel jumps with 15+ unique gear upgrade character specific currencies are nothing short of chaos and horribly invalidating game design.

Punish the mass playerbase for the exploits of the dozens of people that get paid to play WoW as their fulltime job.

Look there have been a lot of positive changes to the game, but I can safely say Blizz enjoys ignoring the players that know what makes the game better and what obviously will make the game worse.

This is like some Kathleen Kennedy with Star Wars type level of disregard.

The ones that get shafted the most are the ones that are in between the 50% and the 1%

I gotta admit, I am BORED. I want to play but it feels like all I am doing is world of chorecraft.

It was better before I grabbed alts up to 70.

It is more fun going to the dentist than doing the rep quests again and again…

I feel my character hasn’t gone up in power. Maybe I am just rubbish at playing a hunter but mobs aren’t melting like they do when other classes play. Yeah I don’t do m+ or raid, so I don’t have the best itemization, but still. Feels like the new mobs are harder than the old mobs but i am not 450 ilvl yet to melt them.

What the OP said, it feels like such a total waste of time. Seriously…do this for xyz gear. I cannot bring myself to do the 5 heroics for a piece of 415. 50% or less chance it isn’t the same thing I got before (talking you 3 TW satchels with the same crap in a row).

I feel a break coming on my end. I also want to do the professions but the new system just makes you grind grind and more grind. Man I miss just doing a 1-100. The new KP system is about on par with starting fresh and needing 5-6 xpac worth of crafting to do current crafting…in fact that old ssystem was actually better because gold could buy you there in an hour or two.

You cannot divide by 0 but 0/2 = 0

You throw enough random numbers up there and someone HAS to believe you! This patch gives everyone an upgrade path that gives you incentive to move to the next level while allowing you to blast the content you enjoy. What more do you want in that front really? The mix up of dungeons is a nice touch to flavor M+ new raid for raiders and meta always shifting with pvp changes. Honestly I think just looking to making more engaging world content and they got a good system going.

Yeah, each patch makes the previous gear irrelevant, time marches on, for whom the bells toll, etc, etc…. :slightly_smiling_face:

It would be nice if there was some form of permanence beyond the pets, mounts and toys.

With all the time fractions, can I get a fracture that brings me to a version of legion where my Legion weapon doesn’t get depleted?

Some people like seasonal play.

That’s essentially what WoW has become.

Similiar to d3. It’s always fun playing a new season and gearing up but eventually you get bored until a new season comes out.

I like it tbh. I feel like it would be very stale if it wasn’t this way.

The whole class balance thing is killing it for me. It seems like every patch a class gets a complete rework and ends up being absolutely broken because they listened to ZERO feedback in PTR. Then they take WAYYYYY too long to fix it.

I’m sorry all of these class reworks should have been done, I don’t know… BEFORE the expansion was released. Not mid-expansion. It just makes them look incompetent.

The more this expac goes on, the more clear it becomes that it was not ready when it was released. All of the stuffd they are “fixing” or “improving” now should have been done at release.

And now they’re adding a new spec for evoker… I’m sure that’s gonna go smoothly… They can’t even balance current classes so let’s throw in another one to the mix…lol

I’m actually enjoying 10.1 compared to 10.0 and 10.0.7. Though I have no doubt when 10.1.x drops I’ll probably want to quit playing again. You can only enjoy the same gear grind for so long, especially when you’re starting before where you are currently or all over again.

Even then, the current gear gaps are kind of annoying. Explorer > Adventurer > etc etc. I don’t really get the why. Is it meant to waste our time?

I just don’t understand with Blizzard sometimes. It’s like you have FF14 right there with a solid gearing system staring you right in the face and they insist on doing things their own way. Kudos because this is a step in the right direction, but not kudos because other games already handle this process far better.

The other theory is that diving by 0 is like removing a warp core(basically means dividing by 0)… destroys the fabric of space-time.

So that means the playerbase will never reach zero, heck yeah
