Every main character feel unrelatable

Every time I see main character in new content, on PTR I see 8.3 story and just wish they all would go away. Prophet Velen only character I enjoy seeing but that because he had nothing to do with BFA. It not feel like war happen despite many fourth war reference added, it impossible for me to believe how poorly all went. In shadowlands we see old character in afterlife… it possible we take some old one back and leave new one in place and reboot?

Well, when you have Robert Brooks and Christie Golden on the job expect perpetual disappointment.

Okay, that’s understandable, but what exactly is it you’re looking for? The likability and relatability of a character is subjective, and while I do believe that BFA suffers from character draught, you haven’t really given anything past “I hate every character.”

So… I’m not entirely sure what you’re hoping to find with this post.

Me Alternatel. Me don’t get what you saying.

On all seriousness though, like Grandblade said, relatability is subjective, also you’ve not even tried describing what you’re looking for in a character, nor how they disappointed you, your OP is more like an empty rant.

i don’t know, despite being treated like garbage i still like many of the characters that are still around it doesn’t matter how many thrash writters tries to ruin them, maybe i like them as a concept or for a millions of other reasons.

and i feel like if i want far better written story or characters i would probably read books such as those from GoT.
Sadly WoW story isn’t mean to be extremely deep or having consistency considering that is mean to last several expansions and pass for different writters that may have different visions and we have a far more ahead.

this is not true, uther smiles upon you!

Uther is a character who’s been dead before World of Warcraft even began, who’s had very brief appearances as a ghost sprinkled throughout the expansions. Even with the knowledge that he’s going to be a major figure in the next expansion, that has no bearing on the (vague) complaints of OP - which is to say Uther is not a BFA character.

How about Khadgar?

I feel you op, dont listen to what people are saying here, but many many many of the characters are extreemly unrelatable.

Many go back and forth between extreemly perfect(anduin/baine) and flip on a dime (jaina). Not many characters fail. Others are insane apperently after being retconned see sylvie.

So I think you’re spot on op, not many relatable characters.

Yes Khadgar I like, is sympathetic with story I understand and motives that make sense.

what are his motives?
i feel like he is too bland and his personality can be summarized as a kid.

i am just trying to understand what kind of characters you want.

Alright, you’ve given an example of another character you like… but you still haven’t detailed what about him pleases you. “Sympathetic,” “story you understand,” and “motives that make sense” can be applied to many characters depending on the beholder. Further than that, Khadgar’s motivations boil down largely to just “save Azeroth” and I’m not entirely sure what there is to sympathize with him in contrast to literally everyone who’s not Velen, so that’s still not much to go on.

Why don’t you tell us the kind of characters you want to see in comparison to the characters at the forefront now?

i mean, khadgar to that extent is a simple guy. he just want to save azeroth.
Alright, then we can say that anduin is a simple guy, he hust want to save azeroth…
but then we can go on, and on that is pretty much almost all the characters in wow.
i mean, recently we got many characters from both faction “what is your home? richmond!-- i mean azeroth!”.

so yeah! everyone has the same motive!

Khadgar is pretty reletable, He’s just a boomer.

The OP does not relate to any character, but he does not really explain in what way he could relate to a character.

I happen to see parts of the characters that I see in myself. And not always just the good stuff. Anduin and Sylvanas both tried sincerely for one thing or another and had it blow up in their face. I can relate to that.

I can also relate to the intense hatred and rage, and search for vengeance of various characters. As well as the need to set those feelings aside for some other purpose.

I admit I am often short of being as forgiving as Thrall, Jaina, Baine, and Anduin. They sort of disgust me. But I can understand it. Velen does forgiveness the best in this series. I could aspire to be like him in that sense.

I guess it is just a personal experience, or what you see in it.

Well, although I can not relate, I do feel for the guy. He got turned into an old man while still young and devoted his life to good causes ever since. I recall he even makes a comment about missing out on the joys of youth and finding a love and such. Perhaps some could relate to the feeling of missing out on life because of duty.

So that wasn’t Uther in WC2 and WC3?

I know you mean World of Warcraft, but saying just Warcraft means you are including the RTS and the MMO, as the franchise is still called “Warcraft”.

Whoops, yeah that’s what I meant. Lemme fix that.
