Loot Council is usually performance based so it makes sense you dont get loot.

I’ve been apart of both good and bad ones
Bad LC’s usually collapse once bullcorn is found via favoritism, corruption, etc.
Good LC’s both clearly explain how they determine loot distribution and follow through with said distribution.
Only loot council gear i like is the one that funnels me all the good gear first.
After all, I am superior and deserve it over the peasants. Eh?

Gonna say it, Loot Council makes sense in a progression version of the game where officers are making a decision on a piece of gear based on the needs of the raid. We tried it once and I never liked it. DKP in this type of guild is way better.
For Loot Piñata content I just don’t see it. If you are wiping it isn’t usually a gear issue.
Loot council is stupid the best most fair system is leaving it to the dice everyone did thier part to down the boss and the bosses are not hard

But if you’re pushing progression that needs to be factored in also rather than just leaving it to chance.
For a real example;
In era I was a feral tank, the guild I was in was short on OT’s. While I wasn’t close friends with anyone on the loot council I was prioritized for gearing to get my gear level up so I can support the guild in Naxx, so within a span of two weeks I got Boots of the Shadow Flame, elementium threaded cloak, thick qirajihide belt, genesishide trousers, and gloves of the hidden temple.
The guild explained the situation to everyone and nobody (at least publicly) had an issue with it as they understood the rational behind giving me all this loot.
I think personally that the amount of LC guilds we see in classic wow is beyond insanity and its part of the meta of guilds who aren’t 1%ers purely looking to clone 1% guilds, in my opinion unless you are legitimately competitive (lets say top 50 in the world), you have no real business running an lc, where your gear goes doesn’t really matter, the first remotely difficult content doesn’t come in classic until t5 and it’s pretty much just vash
i have recently been pugging some cata raids and have ended up in situations where they won’t lc items that i am on but they will lc items that the guild is reserving or winning via rolls and their lc are completely clueless, they are actively just making the guild worse, a lot of these guilds are the blind leading the blind
