Every freaking trinket I get is on-use

It’s like Blizzard went ape-sh, balls to the wall insane with the on-use trinkets this expansion. They were like “You know what we don’t have enough of? You know what players LOVE? On-use trinkets!!!”

And all the players went… uhm… -_-, no. We don’t want that.

I don’t want it, anyway.

I’m not making this up. I think literally the last 10 trinkets that have dropped for me (and only trinkets ever drop for me, lol) have been on-use.

This might be crazy to some people here but I do NOT want to have another button on my bars that I have click.

“Oh just make a macro huehuehue”

No wise guy, I’m not gonna make a macro. I know how to, but I’m not. I refuse to. I’m tired of it. I have made 10,000 bajillion million macros to use for my trinkets over the years and literally 9,999 bajillion million of those macros have been during this expansion. No more. I’m done. No more macros for these freakin trinkets, man.

Trade you, all I get is passive ones

Well you don’t even need to macro a then, just change the trinket name in a macro you already have!

I agree with you though, I like passive trinkets but even for on use trinkets many of these are just terrible (delve trinkets especially)

Have on-use trinkets always shared a 20 second cooldown with each other, or was that introduced after two incredibly broken on-use trinkets were used together one season?

Valid crash out. I hate on use trinkets too. A piece of me dies inside every time an on use trinket is bis…

I love my on use trinkets, all my characters got the noggenfogger summon.

I prefer passive abilities on trinkiets but usually on use ones are interesting as well, although its just another button im gonna forget to press when i should.

The same thing happened with my DK this entire xpac. I still have 2 on use trinkets. I hate it. I would rather have passive trinkets instead.

I’m using a s1 on use trinket in one of my trinket slots on my DK because I hate the bee trinket I got from my vault earlier this season that moves me forward against my will. I try to position myself carefully, hit my pillar of frost macro that my trinkets are bound to, then the trinket moves me forward and I can’t hit Obliterate because the mob is now behind me and I’m facing the wrong direction (and it’s possible that it zoomed me into a puddle that I was carefully positioning myself to avoid). I’ve never been this annoyed at a trinket before.

If the bee functioned like the Frostwhelp’s Aid takent where it shoots out in the direction I am facing and deals damage without dragging me along with it then I wouldn’t mind it any more than any other on use trinket instead of getting annoyed every time I look at it. Right now the bee trinket is only there to save some crests if/when I do get a passive trinket.

Just macro them to your boss buttons.

I would rather lose a few ilvls than use an on-use trinket. They get binned immediately.

Most of the trinkets are so bad like even with the 20% buff they gave them. It just bloats up the loot pool. The on use wouldn’t be bad if they felt impactful like 1 mil damage every 90 seconds is not enough

I lost 15k dps going from the annoying bee trinket (ilvl 650-something) to a decent ilvl 626 season 1 trinket. It does make a difference, but honestly the 15k dps gain is probably cancelled out by the loss of uptime on my cds (zooming through the mob and facing the wrong direction) and less survivability in some situations (zooming into a puddle behind the mob when fighting groups of mobs that drop puddles).

I love on use trinkets, stat sticks / passive trinkets are boring.

Come at me bro.

honestly, I prefer passive proc trinkets, that actually have a visible spell effect, instead of just “increases stat for 12 seconds”.

MOP Remix gems were great about this.

they should incorporate those into trinkets

Some of them are fun or interesting like pocket anvil or witherbark branch. I dont like the ones that are just pressing a button to do some damage.

You always want one on use Trinket that lines up with your big damage CD’s.

As a tank, I love on use trinkets

Those are the ones that need to be removed

Yeah that’s what I’m talking about. I type /macro, find it, and then I’m like oh wait what was the name of the trinket again. So I press C to open my character window which usually force closes the macro window and… yeah

I dont know what a boss button is

Yep lol

Not that this solves the greater complaint (of not wanting to use On-Use trinkets at all, which I sympathize with), you can get around this by writing /use 13 or /use 14, as those numbers correspond to the top or bottom trinket slots, respectively. Then it doesn’t matter what the trinket is named, because the macro’s calling for you to activate the slot itself.
