Every change is the next step to retail

Bye bye.

Here’s a quick example of how it impacts gameplay.

Let’s say you have a boss fight with strong tank damage low raid damage, so you have 1-2 holy paladins healing him (best tank healer class) next boss fight is heavy aoe damage to the raid so the 2 holy paladins respec with dual spec and change gear to be prot/ret now your down 2 healers but gained a melee dps and a tank.

Now an enhance shaman and your druid tank uses dual spec and gear changes to be resto. You just gained 2 healers.

But wait, resto druids and shaman are MUCH better raid healers than holy paladins. The prot paladin is better at multiple target tanking for adds and will also reduce raid damage by having better aoe add control.

You just made the fight with more soe damage and less tank damage MUCH easier for your raid. It also makes the strength of a Feral tank going dps when you need less tanks a weaker asset because now warriors and paladins can just respec mid raid to dps and change gear out with no downtime or cost to the raid.

These examples have been given before in the dual spec arguments but you will hand wave it away like the rest I’m sure…

Probably for the 50th time now.

The point I am making is that your suggested change is unnecessary. The core problem of Tank and Healer shortages can be addressed by the less impactful change of lowering respec fees and tuning them.

i explictiy remember the announcement in in december of patch 3.3.2 when they made the announcement. it had a picture of the lich king on it.
