Ever tried something from WoW in real life?

Kidney Shot IRL

When I was like 13 me and my friend wanted to see if [Kidney Shot] worked IRL (we both mained Rogue) so we googled where the kidneys are located on the human body and I volunteered to let her punch me super hard where my kidneys were supposed to be located (she punched me more frontal but kind of from the side).

She hit me once and it didn’t do anything so I let her try a second time and I immediately went down and threw up all over the carpet (her mom was mad).

In my defense, her hand was small and bony so she was probably able to bypass my ribcage or something idk

I know we’re not the only one’s that attempted something like this cause we got inspired to do this after reading about that boy who used skills he learned in World of Warcraft to defend his sister from a Moose

Norwegian boy saves sister from moose attack using world of warcraft skills

KOERT VAN MENSVOORT
MAY 31ST 2010

Hans Jørgen Olsen, a 12-year-old Norwegian boy, saved himself and his sister from a moose attack using skills he picked up playing the online role playing game World of Warcraft…

Hans and his sister got into trouble after they had trespassed the territory of the moose during a walk in the forest near their home. When the moose attacked them, Hans knew the first thing he had to do was ‘taunt’ and provoke the animal so that it would leave his sister alone and she could run to safety. ‘Taunting’ is a move one uses in World of Warcraft to get monsters off of the less-well-armored team members.

Once Hans was a target, he remembered another skill he had picked up at level 30 in ‘World of Warcraft’ – he feigned death. The moose lost interest in the inanimate boy and wandered off into the woods. When he was safely alone Hans ran back home to share his tale of video game-inspired survival.

The kidneys aren’t in the ribcage. Should have probably looked up better information.

I made beer basted boar ribs once! That was pretty tasty. I love Dun Morogh vibes.

Sometimes I read posts by you Cerkov and I feel like I’m getting lore drops. :joy:

I don’t recommend letting anyone perform an actual kidney shot on you. Puking will the least of your worries. The kidneys aren’t something you want to damage.

That’s ambitious! I’d be afraid of ruining such a good cut of meat. lol

I don’t know if this counts, but I used to play so much too much? that in traffic I would reach for the mouse to change the camera angle so I could see in front of the traffic which obviously didn’t work.

You know you have played WoW too much when you try to walk through people… :sunglasses:

Wasn’t that fake?

I’m 97% sure it was a true story?

I just looked it up again; multiple news outlets published a story about it and I haven’t found any debunking.

I hope it’s not, else my Near-Acute Kidney Trauma experience be in vain.

We had a WoW themed get-together!

Being the extreme nerds we are yes we have each person ‘several’ skills. Needless to say, I have consumed the Ale to drunkenness like WoW, I have attempted a Rising sun kick unsuccessfully, I have done a Tiger palm and black out kick successfully. (All on the same day if extra points).

I once tried to tame a wild lion by pointing my arms at it and thinking really hard. It just looked at me like I was nuts before attempting to maul me.

I tried to execute a “prayer of mending” at my local supermarket once. It didn’t go so well. Apparently throwing boxes of band-aids at people until they ricochet off them is not the optimal way to heal someone.

I remember you, I was trying to acquire some Dwarven Ale but the NPCs refused to accept my gold because I was not yet level 21, but thanks to your distraction I was able to stealth my way to the entrance with the ale, but the entrance mobs had a long aggro range and I failed to get by and was clubbed by mobs and the city guards.

After a week I would level up to 14 and try again…
