Transmog wise

Especially as of lately. A couple of things from the trading post have made me kinda see this.

In october, the DK set, reminds me a lot of Nurgle

November, the warlock set, it looks like Slaanesh itself took the reigns on this one

I mean it’s pretty directly inspired by Warhammer.

Pretty sure the original Warcraft: Orcs vs Humans was originally intended to be a Warhammer RTS but they couldn’t get the licensing rights so they turned it into their own thing.

And then here we are 30 years later.

This question is largely akin to asking “Hey, you ever think Lord of the Rings inspired fantasy stories, books, games, and movies we have today?”. Warhammer is old. Of course they have taken inspiration many’a’times from it, not explicitly, but rather because of how old franchises like Warhammer has influenced all forms of modern gaming (whether as sci-fi fantasy or high fantasy).

This will of course extend to appearances as well.

I thought they did this because it’s just generic western fantasy. Tolkien value

And billions of dollars and a failed MMO later, I wonder if Game Workshop regrets that decision

Technically if you go way way way back into the history, even Metzen said himself ages ago WoW was inspired by D&D.

I just find it funny that you cited trading post items as being very warhammer-y and then we’re getting a magical girl costume.

Also Starcraft was supposed to be a Warhammer 40k game from what I heard it even has the classic space marines.

Also the Zerg are clearly the Tyranids
