Event Onyxia Lag - OMG

Wow… 5 minutes to kill Ony due to insane lag, and no loot, quest credit or anything! Ouch!

Don’t go in the first group. Lot less players in the second wave so way less lag.

I had severe lag as well though I still got credit for everything.

I don’t know, but ever since the day TWW pre-patch went live, the lag on my machine has caused me to miss boss kills in Time Rifts, Researchers Under Fire, DF World Bosses, Radiant Echoes, and more because it won’t even show I’m there at the event/boss. It seems like even legacy raids I run with friends for tmogs is affected by this immense lag.

This is the same on the Terenas, Proudmoore and Wyrmrest Accord realms.

My computer and WOW was doing great with no noticeable lag up until pre-patch…but since I have become familiar with every kind of disconnect, lag delay, and connection problem imaginable.

What is more frustrating is that not even all the players are affected by it!!

I have done the following to try to rectify this issue:

  • Disabled and kept off all addons
  • Enabled one addon at a time to see if it is causing the lag
  • Run the Battle.net Scan and Repair
  • Replaced my WTF folders
  • Checked my dedicated gaming hard drive for space (over 500GB)
  • Made sure all software, drivers, apps, etc. were up to date
  • And I’m sure I’m forgetting something else I’ve tried…

Was hoping the patch today (August 6th) would fix it, but apparently not.

At this point I’m just ready to try and get a refund for my TWW purchase, cancel my sub, and finally be done with this frustrating game.

I’m curious. Are all the people that complaining about lag following the system requirements for the game? Or Alternatively do they have a bad internet connection. A friend plays on an old laptop and complains about the issues of lag or no loot. I have not experienced this but have a newer tower and super fast internet. Are many of these issues perhaps the players troubles and not so much Blizzard’s fault?

After the reset. Virtually everyone seems to participate on the realm. I noticed as the week went on it got less laggy for me. Though prime time in the evening when peeps get home from work it was bad too.

Well I won’t speak for others, though I have heard similar responses, but my 1 year old gaming computer is far above the minimum and even optimal/recommended system requirements.

My work-from-home job requires better internet connections then does WOW, and it is again far better the majority of internet connections where I live.

And also, again, the fact that this all started literally as soon as we were able to login after TWW pre-patch…hrm…
