It has come to my attention that an Official event has been coordinated for Breast Cancer awareness on the BB server by the person who originated the “Running of the Gnomes”. More details to follow, however just wanted to inform everyone that we won’t be doing our scheduled run, but will be joining in on the Official run when it is posted. I thank you all for your support and keep posted to the forums as I’m sure something will be posted herecsoon. Thanks!
How about we do something for prostate cancer for once, you know, the one that literally ravages the male population all around the world but doesn’t have a Super pink PR department and numerous “charities” that take advantage of the disease for profit.
Tarron - this is a fantastic idea which I know will be a lot of work but at the same time a lot of fun. I really appreciate folks that take the time to plan an event that everyone can enjoy. That is awesome to hear about your spouse and that her battle inspired you to do this to further raise awareness of the fight against the disease. I would love to attend but my boss has other ideas. Hope the night is one to remember for everyone. Good times!
What a great idea! Can’t wait to see your thread announcing the event.
Well, this has always been a chance to kill lots and lots of gnomes. I’ve participated a few times over the years, helping to keep Orgrimmar gnome free.
For the person complaining that there is no event for prostate cancer, why don’t you arrange something? Prostate cancer awareness month is November. Many men do not shave during November in support of awareness. Dwarves are known for their beards, it seems natural to include them in an awareness event.
You know I always hear about the male population and how we’re leaving them out but the first person I knew of with Breast Cancer was Richard Roundtree, as his daughter and I went to school together (kindergarten friends!).
Breast Cancer isn’t a women’s disease. It’s an everyone’s disease.
If you want we host a running of the Trolls in the Summer for people worried about “What about the men” as suicide is highest in men, and gay men in particular. Or as others suggested, make your own instead of asking others to do things for you
I always think of you when people ask about after parties. Glad to see you’re still around
Anyways! I’ll have a full next day or so with all of the details for Classic, but you can count on it being Oct 19th in the Gnome/Dwarf Starting area, at 7pm EST
