We’re down to like 30 people posting the same topics day in and day out with, let’s say, an optimistic yesman coming to the defense of a multi dollar company that’s failed to deliver a quality product on time.
I haven’t been on the forums much today at all, and the blue line is still on the front page. That’s crazy! Everyone is giving up, even everyone.
Yeah, but in the many prime time hours since I was last gear the “new post” line is still on the front page.
And just anecdotally, I see the same faces around (like you’re).
I mean GD. It used to be active. Not the most thrilling reading material in the world, but good for some entertainment during my middle of the night poops.
Great question. I like to read new class speculation, the wilder the better. Tinkers don’t excite me as much as the more unique necromancy and dragonsworn ideas. I like the idea of an “order” class and “death” class (tinkerer and necromancer, respectively) since we have “life”, “fel”, “void” and light.)
I often think on the direction WoW has taken since WotLK to pursue more “solo oriented” players, and wether or not that was a good decision for the game.
I’m also an advocate for equal gearing opportunity between the different “pillars of endgame”, I like reading about ideas to bring them into parity.
Until I see the major populated realms such as Illidan, Stormrage, Tichondrius, etc realms start showing “medium” population then you can say the game is dead
I became one of those solo oriented players after Wrath and I have to say I quite enjoyed it, especially in Legion. The class halls were amazing, for sure. I really got into alts then but then BFA came out. It wasn’t great as a solo player and to this day I’ve never made a 32 slot bag because I don’t do group content. So really I think it kinda circled back right about there.
I couldn’t imagine Shadowlands being marketed as a solo adventure. Big yikes from me, there. But I’m having fun with it anyway, kinda. I decided last night to redo my whole UI because why not. I was really into the custom UI dealio in BC and Wrath and after that I had a computer that wasn’t so great so I got used to default and just rode it out.
So basically I decided to make an allied race on a dead RP server, for, well reasons. Anyway with this new UI setup I tried to get into a real RP kinda mood. I even changed all the fonts in the game to skurri, it’s horribly cheesy. Anyway this rambled but it’s almost 3 am and I’m tired. I tried.
Making up numbers does not help an argument. Blizz doesn’t report sub numbers anymore and hasn’t for a long time. Anyone trying to give an actual number is lying, overexaggerating, or only working with partial information. No player can give an accurate sub count.
But it’s obviously not that low. There’s still plenty of people in game and a lot of active high and full population servers. It’s normal to see less people at the tail end of a patch, especially in a longer content drought. Populations always rise and fall, they’re never constant.
A true dying game would be a very obvious experience. WoW’s not even close to dead.
