Blizzard wants to change warforged and titanforged items, but they don’t have a solution in place for it. Without this system, some players would have their maximum gear after only a few weeks and thus have nothing left to aim for gear wise.
What is wrong with having maximum gear in a few weeks? Isn’t that why people play alts? I mean once in awhile it is nice to be able to say your done. To enjoy the fruits of your labor.
What do you all think would be a good solution or a better balance then what we have today? I for one would like to see some of the power put back into the players hands. Why can’t JC’s create an item to allow us to add a slot to any item but be capped at 3 or why can’t Inscriptionist make items to allow us to add one bonus to an item such as Indestructible but again with a cap on how many. Then allowing tailors, LW,s and Blacksmiths to create items that can offset the bad RNG and increase the item level of each type of gear. Maybe by 5 for low cost matts and by 10 using more rare matts.
Just a random thought. So many things have to be better then what we have now and I would love to hear other ideas.
Get rid of titanforging, socketing, warforging, tierchiary, personal loot, bonus rolls, literally everything that makes it so loot dropping is changed in some way to cater more to pugs/people that don’t actually want a raid.
A BiS piece should be obtainable, not a dream.
A BiS gearset should be able to be envisioned, not simply imagined with a computer app.
Upgrades should be clear cut, you should need 0 thought to understand this piece is better than your current piece.
Add back multi strike.
I think they need to get over this false idea that gearing “too quickly” leads to unsubs.
I’ve never been BiS all around but even getting ilvl capped (for me) has never made me want to stop playing. What makes me want to stop playing are all of these layers of RNG that makes me feel like I’m never going to get there no matter how much I play.
We could have a currency system set in place that allows you to either buy a token that allows you to increase the ilvl by 5 of a piece of gear up to a maximum of “insert ilvl cap for current tier” AND/OR we could just use the same currency to Target specific items with higher ilvls.
I mean it’s been said many times… put a cap on WF/TF just so that it doesn’t surpass the next difficulty. Cause I hit the same wall that is mentioned where I couldn’t really get upgrades from Heroic long before I finished heroic. 3 425s that I won’t replace and some 420s that probably won’t either. I don’t need to keep doing M+ honestly and since we aren’t probably going all of the way in Mythic I’m probably done on gear until next tier minus whatever couple of pieces I may or may not want from crucible.
Your right! I am returning from a break. All of the RNG with loot played a good part in burning me out and making me never feel rewarded. The perfect piece shouldn’t need a miracle. I mean I have played for 14yrs and it was rare to get BiS in every slot for me. Never stopped me from playing.
When you make the “goal” effectively unobtainable, people catch on and they get discouraged. For a company so attuned to the psychology of gaming, they sure have missed the mark on that one.
I liked your post, OP, because there was nothing wrong with JP/VP. An alt easily increases Time Played when it came to getting another set of gear from the same exact vendor.
Personally, instead of removing, why not combine? JP for lower iLevel gear upgrades, then VP for higher. VP to add Tertiaries and Sockets, or as OP mentioned, use professions to mend gaps.
If they want to keep warforging and titanforging in the game there is such an easy solution to this.
Just bring back something similar to the MoP system. It’s literally that simple.
Readd valor points to the game and make WF/TF an actual upgrade system.
Example would be an item drops that’s 400 that’s 0/4 for upgrades but if it titanforges it could just be 420 4/4 upgraded without having to spend valor points.
Crazy! An actual system that works and would still give you a real reason other than achievements to waste your time doing the raid on Mythic.
Titanforging should just be axed and they can keep warforging if they really want that randomness.
Gearing too fast really comes from all the insane high item level sources thrown at us like warfronts, world boss, emissaries, mythic+ (especially cache), weekly events, etc.
The game hands out tons of heroic level raid gear for doing almost nothing. It’s completely crippled the low end of group content like 2-6 keys and normal raids when you can WQ and warfront your way past them to 390+.
The difficulty to reward ratio is just really out of whack this expansion.
I have never understood why they had such an issue with JP and VP or the entire MoP item upgrade system. How did they ever think the RnG with loot today would be better then that system? Sure it wasn’t perfect but I am sure there could have been improvements to that system that wouldn’t have left us with this always disappointed system because lets face it. BiS is a myth for most of us with this level of RnG.
This expansion I’ve moved away from harder content like 15 or higher level keys or heroic raids, instead I either farm mounts or spam bgs, and still can end up at 360+ ilvl with only a couple( I rarely do them) of warfronts weekly quests or caches done with ease.
It’s sad really. My basically non-existant effort and participation in higher end content in this expansion should really make my ilvl be way lower than it is.
Oh I do raid and my guild usually clears heroic well before the end of the tier. That is my source of gear. I don’t bother with Mythic Plus, world bosses, or much else. I figure one source of disappointment is enough.
