League of Legends has different regions because of latency but Riot still lets costumers transfer regions along with their skins and achievements. So why is this impossible for WoW? Law has nothing to do with it, every single mmo after 2010 allows region crossing, so what’s the problem here? Would it be really that expensive for Blizzard to introduce a system that allows mounts and achievements to transfer regions?
EU data protection laws prohibit Blizzard from transferring personal information to the US without crossing a ton of red tapes & Blizzard deems it not worth it.
As for Asia, a different company manages it.
So basically they’re lazy and ignoring thousands and thousands of people like me who travel. That’s a lame excuse, every other modern mmo doesn’t have a problem with EU and NA character transferring.
Why not? I guess there stuff isn’t setup for it to be possible.
Their stuff is setup to let them
They don’t care to set their stuff up to do it.
I don’t know if I’d call it lazy, might just not be worth it.
They were likely built with it in mind. Why doesn’t this cabin from the 1300s have indoor plumbing? Every house made since the 1970s has indoor plumbing so why not this house? Is it really that expensive to add it?
You think because you want it, everyone else must want it, too. I don’t think there are as many people asking for this as you think.
You’re wrong, there are at least half a mill Europeans playing on NA
Because League of Legends in Europe is the same game as League of Legends in NA, or League of Legends in Asia, or League of Legends in Oceania.
How ever, World of Warcraft is not the same game within the EU or within the NA. 2 different games, therefore why you would have also different subscriptions for the game too in different regions.
Please don’t give opinions on things you do not understand. Ghostcrawler said that it’s possible and the ‘‘different game’’ thing is just a myth.
Can we please stop spreading this false reason?
Blizzard already has our personal information transferred between US and EU with no issue whatsoever. I have a few mounts and pets in my EU trial account, and I’ve never played with it to obtain those mounts/pets.
The issue is simpler: there are many players actually paying for two subs (EU and US), so them making this move would translate to money loss.
That’s it, nothing to do with EU laws that only effect EU countries (not UK, Russia or China).
Bingo, they want people like me to pay 2 subs
Well, you seem to do not understand.
It is not possible to transfer World of Warcraft accounts, in-game progress, game time, or items to different regions. World of Warcraft accounts and all associated items are region-locked. To play in a different region, you will need to purchase a World of Warcraft license in the new region.
Therefore why it is 2 different games.
That doesn’t say they’re different games just that you can’t.
World of Warcraft on the EU is a different game to World of Warcraft on the NA. Why, because things are locked by the region your in, and therefore, can’t be transfered to a different region.
It is best to not continue on with something that you do not understand with on how things are and how things work.
First, I’d like to see your source.
Second, how many of those alleged half million players are asking for the ability to move fluidly between regions?
That’s not true, there’s a difference between being 2 different games and having the same game that’s region locked. If your way of saying it’s 2 different games because it’s region locked that’s really dumb. It’s the same company, it’s the same CEO’s, they just never made it region open because it was 2003 and they didn’t think about it.
Once again, you really fail to understand anything… Oh well, I got better things to do than try and explain something so simple.
My guy, you can’t just say 2 different games that can mean many things. Yes it’s true that they’re region locked and coded differently in some places but that can all be merged within a month. Saying that it’s 2 different games is like saying Dark Souls is a different game. Don’t parrot those old talking points, just say region locked. Bye
i feel like this would take a lot of overhauling to fix a minuscule issue, but what do i know about development
if youre having to travel a lot around the world wouldnt a VPN do the job?
idk ppl seem to think VPNs are the solution to everything location related but i wouldnt know.
im guessing latency wouldnt be as good but good enough for a temporary situation?
